    Yorkshire, Compression, Ordinary Soldered?? Plastic/copper

Movement is designed into Push-fit fittings so they don't leak if they do move, brass compression won't. Brass compression is the wrong way to connect plastic pipes together but it can be done if needs be. Soldered copper pipe and fittings are obviously best, not solder-ring though! That's...

    Yorkshire, Compression, Ordinary Soldered?? Plastic/copper

If the OP is going to use plastic pipe, why would he use anything else to join it other than Push-Fit fittings?

    Yorkshire, Compression, Ordinary Soldered?? Plastic/copper

Join plastic pipe with plastic fittings. Why would you join plastic pipe any other way?

    Yorkshire, Compression, Ordinary Soldered?? Plastic/copper

Copper + soldering is more expensive, takes more time and is difficult if you're not experienced. It's one thing making a joint on a work bench in a vice but on your back behind a bath??? I'm not a fan of compression fittings because it doesn't take much pipe movement to shift the joint and...

    Turn off heating

Sounds like the mid-pos valve is seized, just use the gate valve you mentioned for now.

    Confusing problems with heating system

Sounds to me like your Powerflushes simply haven't been done properly. I do a lot of Powerflushing and if done correctly it DOES work but unfortunately they often aren't. As already advised, rather than spending more money on a Powerflush that may or may not work... - Add Fernox F5 or...

    Hot water problems

E9 is overheat on these, could be a blockage in either heat exchanger or a faulty pump. Can you not call BG out to repair it? Expect them to say you need a powerflush.

Underfloor Heating + Combi Boiler Set up

You need to follow the diagram on page 5. Disregard the red pump and optional hot water motorised valve as you have a combi. Ditch the DT10.

Underfloor Heating + Combi Boiler Set up

Yea that'll do, two of them. I'm not familiar with the Speedfit stat you already have, got a link? What does it currently control?

Underfloor Heating + Combi Boiler Set up

You're meant to have the rads and UFH as separate zones each with their own controller, the DT20 can only control the whole system as one zone. I would ditch the DT20 in favor of x2 programmable stats controlling x2 2-port valves, one for the rads and one for the UFH. The only thing you'll...

Should an electrician be wiring gas boiler controls?

Incorrect. You need to prove competence which can only be done by passing ACS exams. http://www.diynot.com/forums/plumbing/diy-gas.8090/

Replace Pottorton EP6002 (Version no longer available)

Terminals A to D a spare and are not used for the timer itself. You just need to make sure the wires in them stay connected with standard electrical choc-blocks behind your new timer back plate. L, N and earth are obvious. 1 is HW off (not sure why yours has two wires in it) 3 is HW on...

W/B 26CDI XTRA, Hurrendous noise, air flow fault.

Sorry to hear about the bad service from BG. Your fault could certainly end up being a lot more than £250, on the other hand it could be £100 or less so the WB fixed price repair is a reasonable option. Tony... BG take on pretty much anything out there, regardless of age or condition...
