Curious electrics in kitchen at own house

You may have more luck using one of these detectors in metal detection mode. Most should do the job OK if you understand how they work.

    It doesn't, that's the point.

Another one, already the debate in the comments has started: Age of the installation affects the coding :(

Loft Insulation with Fixed Fire Rated LED Downlight

It's not a case of how hot do they get, it's can they keep the LED sufficiently cool with no airflow around them. You need to check the manufacturer's instructions regarding insulation. What type of roof is it? Is there any membrane or vapour barrier in place?

    Downlights in pitched roof

As TTC mentioned, you need to create a warm roof if you want to cut holes in it for downlights. There's both thermal and vapour barrier issues otherwise.

    Enclosure for contactors

Coil is around 3W per device on these, so they do get fairly warm when packed together.

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just enforcing the point.

One 2.5mm to each double socket and stuff 7 conductors in the MCB (y)

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

Electrically speaking there's no issue with this. It'd upset many electricians though.

Maybe my brain not working, but how would those tests show an interconnected ring?

EICR - tester exceeding remit and the regs?

Neither of these two points bear any relevance to an EICR. Why is this even being reported? Have you paid him yet?

Shower alternates between hot and cold... Boiler is fine.

That just sounds like it'll probably mask the problem. If the shower is set to one setting, the temperature shouldn't vary if no other outlets are used unless there is a fundamental issue with the setup. The fact that slightly turning on a cold tap somewhere has a big effect on temperature...

    Jointing compound

Compound will leak on radiator tails. You need to use PTFE or pipe sealing cord.

    Landlord electrical safety

With regards to rentals, the policy for many agencies is they require an EICR showing compliance with 18th edition. An unsatisfactory EICR plus a MWC or EIC for whatever reason is no good to them.

    Only one lighting circuit..

Combining the two circuits is a valid solution to a shared neutral if separation is not feasible or are you referring to the fact they should have troubleshooted the wiring?

    Only one lighting circuit..

My interpretation of that reg is that if you can segregate circuits, then do. However many are quite many are quite militant over that reg whereas I see many single points of failure whereby all lighting could fail. If the risk to occupants due to a loss of lighting is high, emergency lighting...

Plastic bit on pull cord switches is for insulation/saftey reasons?

Volumes for puppets are presumably nothing like for electrical accessories and quite a different process in general. The two are not comparable. Having consulted at Elektron for cost reduction activities, the process is almost entirely automated with only final assembly performed by hand.

Plastic bit on pull cord switches is for insulation/saftey reasons?

You've clearly not had experience of volume manufacture.
