    Thanks John I get that whichever way I look at it the HW 2 port is not being fed through the Tank Stat if I connect the brown wire from the valve to the tank stat switch side it works as it should?

    Thanks for the reply, if I do a continuity check it shows the contacts are open, it appears the 240v to the 2 port is fed from elsewhere not through the thermostat as per S plan, just a tad confused as I can't trace the cause if it weren't PCB unseen it would be easier :(

    I have had a 250l horizontal tank installed in the loft, my question is it has two 3kw immersions is one enough to fully heat the tank or is it best to use the two? the tank is also supplied with only one, I had two just in case of a failure. Thanks for any pearls of wisdom :)
