    AEG Cooker CCB6761ACB Fitting query

Here's a pic. As you can see there is no way a 6mm cable can be fitted under the screw

    AEG Cooker CCB6761ACB Fitting query

I have one of these to fit. It looks as if the power terminals need some sort of spade connector. I'm assuming compression fit to the 6mm cables. Can someone recommend a suitable part please?

Elite 48 - Error Msg on Set

I finally got five minutes free to have another look at this. The Plus-W learned immediately at the first attempt and is now working normally. Why it dropped out at battery replacement is a mystery, but if it happens again I'll know it's a simple fix. Many thanks as always for your very...

Elite 48 - Error Msg on Set

I checked the log, and sure enough there was a battery low alarm for zone 15. Strange that it didn't show up on Ricochet. I've not had one run out at less than 2 years before. So I replaced all the detector batteries, and get another problem... An Impaq Plus-W is now giving a polling error. It...

Elite 48 - Error Msg on Set

Thanks very much for your suggestions guys. All the detector batteries were changed in June 18 so due for replacement this June. I have spares ready so will change them all later today. Should have checked the log but I'm juggling on-line work so had to leave it. Will report back.

Elite 48 - Error Msg on Set

This is a new one for me. On trying to set the alarm I get an error message: Zones preventing EXIT Start are 15 Zone 15 Secure Zone 15 is a DT-W, which according to Ricochet is working normally, including battery level. I'm going to change the battery anyway, but in the meantime does anyone...

Need advice on new HD IP CCTV install

I bought a 7608 when they first came out. It worked well until I installed some 8k cameras and found that in total they exceeded the CPU speed. I gave that to a friend and it's still working for him with 4k cameras. I replaced it with a 7616 which has a faster processor. The only real...

    CCTV cover area of ground

As sparky says, much better to use screen privacy in the cameras. You can't use baffles with IR as they will reflect it into the lens.

    Hikvision fan noise

I left the top lid off altogether, disconnected the internal fan and mounted a large computer case fan facing an inch or so directly over the PC board. Almost silent and far more efficient cooling. A thermostat switches the fan off below 10C as the cooling isn't needed in winter.

    CAT 6 cable

There are several different variations of the cable that all claim to meet the Cat6 specification. There's no need to buy the most expensive one.

    View cctv through smart tv

I have a Samsung smart TV too. Assuming your NVR has an ethernet connection and you have an ethernet feed next to the TV. There are small basic Windows boxes that have no screen. Get one and install the Hikvision app iVMS, connected to a spare HDMI input on the TV. Or if you have an old...

    CCTV System recommendations

Make sure you are getting genuine Hikvision, bought from an authorised UK distributor. There are some dodgy packages advertised that have different cameras substituted.

    Cat 5e - Cat 6 - confused...

The difference with Cat 6 is that the signal wires are screened. So they are much less susceptible to picking up or causing interference. With the increasing use of wireless connections around the house, this makes it worth the very small extra cost. Their higher frequency carrying ability makes...

Cables in Metal Cable Sheathing ...

As long as they are Cat6 cables , you will have no problem. What you must not do is run a mains cable in the same conduit.

CCTV x 6 cables, TV, Sat cables x 2, and Ethenet cable...?

Just one wire from each camera to the recorder, if you are using POE. And HDMI from the recorder down to the lounge. That plate may be a tidy way to bring your various network connections out to the lounge. At some point you may need an ethernet switch/splitter, unless your router has sufficient...

CCTV x 6 cables, TV, Sat cables x 2, and Ethenet cable...?

You don't divide the cables. Each camera connects to its own port on the DVR.
