Karcher K4 Pressure Washer Leak (frost damage?)

Meanwhile my own K4 has not stopped working. It went through a phase of needing to be thoroughly bled before it would work, running water through it for 15 or 20 minutes. Now it doesn't work at all.

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Any thoughts welcome. We have two HDMI connections, one from the PVR which is normally on standby and needs to be left like that so it works for its timed recordings. The other for a DVD player which could be powered right off when not in use, assuming it has a power switch. Aside from that...

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

To be honest it is a bit offensive, suggesting that it's stupid to expect a device to perform as documented. However I'll let you off if in fact that's what you do with your TV, unplug it from the mains every time you stop watching, and plug it back in when you next want to use it.

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Published specification says standby 0.5W. https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/kd-43x85j/specifications

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

I can't believe you seriously think that's an appropriate solution, give up on the product performing as it should and accept having to delve under the furniture to disconnect it at the mains.

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Initial response from Sony telling me to use the On/Off button, I've replied pointing out that this doesn't power it off but just puts it into standby. At least they look like they're offering some support. Meanwhile some discussions elsewhere suggest it takes time to go fully to sleep, so I'll...

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Yes, it's really not clear whether or how it would apply in these exact circumstances. However looking up the serial number on Sony gives warranty expiry end of October, so looks like they gave just over 60 days warranty. Or putting it another way they extended the warranty of from the...

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Remote start was already disabled. I also found one of the settings referenced in that link, update program guide on standby and I've switched that off. Sadly no change, even after I left it for around 30 min to give it a chance to go into "deep standby".

Remember that these sub 250g drones now fall under the regulations, although some of the requirements are less strict.

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Currently I'm measuring with a TP-Link P110 smart plug. I confirmed this by checking with a different plug in power monitor. With the TP Link I can do a hard switch off (less the power used by the TP Link of course). I've raised a case with Sony, let's see what they say. The consumer rights...

Sony LED TV KD-43X85J - drawing nearly 12W on standby

Hi, I thought I had a happy outcome to my recent problem with my Sony 43" TV, what with them supplying a new replacement albeit a different model, KD-43X85J. I've just discovered that it's drawing nearly 12W on standby, rather than the 0.5W that it is supposed to draw. This is made worse...

Sony TV - Vertical Lines Instead of Picture

Just to finish this off, Sony made contact to confirm that they would be replacing our TV with a slightly later model. They arranged a service company to turn up with the new TV, not quite sure why it needs onsite installation but it may be so that they can inspect the faulty set. Certainly...

Hotpoint FZ175 Freezer - Access to the defrost drain

Thanks. So there's no way to access the top of that drain pipe, is that correct? I hoped I'd get to it removing the sloping panel below, but that doesn't seem to detach. Nor have I been able to remove the top of the outer cabinet, it's not clear how that's fastened at the front as there are no...

Hotpoint FZ175 Freezer - Access to the defrost drain

Thanks James. The issue is that I can't access the top of the pipe, it's buried at the back of the freezer at the top, so I can't see it nor can I pour anything down it. The freezer's been standing for a few days dripping and thawing out, and I can no blow through the pipe from the bottom, but...

Hotpoint FZ175 Freezer - Access to the defrost drain

Hi, We have a Hotpoint FZ175 upright freezer. It is working OK in terms of cooling, but the defrost function is up the spout. Instead of water draining out of the tube at the back, it runs down the back of the freezing compartment, behind the spacers, and forms rivers of ice down the back and...

    LG Smart TV screen

The TV's older than two years. Regarding the recourse under the Consumer Rights Act you can only reject at this stage after the retailer has made one or more attempts to repair the goods [24 (5)] or has not done so within a reasonable time. Can you cite the section giving six years as a...

    What is a "Smart TV".

I believe that the limit on these transmitters isn't necessarily available spectrum, but also cost. They carry only the services that Ofcom required to be made available to any location that previously received analogue service. Regarding spectrum some of these transmitters cover only a really...

    LG Smart TV screen

Discussed in my Sony thread. To follow Winston's advice you'd have to raise a court case (Small Claim in England, Simple Procedure in Scotland) and supply evidence that the product had been faulty at time of sale. Unlike Winston I think that's a tall order.
