Can anyone see an issue with my build plan?

Use concrete blocks instead of timber for making the frame below the ground level (slabs) for the cabin to sit on, they don't rot swell or get affected by water. Install a damp proof between that and the cabin.

Where to put the damp proof course here ??

B for below floor like Woody says, otherwise damp could rise past t and then into anything situated above the floor level that's in contact

    When to remove acrows

If it's not set by now it's not going to so probably best to find out sooner rather than later and it's not going far - 10mm

    Roof rafter sizes

Yes I'm not 100% happy with 150's but like to convince myself they are up to it :) tables seem to indicate it's okay just not the belts and braces like the main extension (200x47's) which was specified with 150's and upsized.

    Advice on outbuilding wall insulation

There was no damage, basically the lining contains moisture in the room and not in the wall of the structure which could over time damage it. I bought and removed it then reinstalled it in our garden but chucked the plastic sheeting away as it was a faff to refit and tbh it was just for use as a...

    Roof rafter sizes

Oxfordshire appears to be quite a low ground snow area @ 0.30Kn/m2 although I've seen 0.6-0.8kn/m2 as the imposed load to use across the UK for snow with 0.75 being the tabled value. The tables I found listed the joist sizes with these taken into consideration...

    Roof rafter sizes

Originally thought insulated roof panels on 150x47mm rafters but went off that when I found Mendip 12.5 tiles but had already bought a bunch of 150's at that point. If I'd started out with mendips in mind I may have gone 200x47mm. Could always cut my losses but the 150's from what I can tell are...

    Roof rafter sizes

Yes those figures are for 16" centers, metric 400. I do have the option of 300 centers as well.

    Roof rafter sizes

Looking at the weight of these tiles they are 49kg m2 so approx 3x5m =15m2 that is 735kg or equivalent of about 8 of me on the roof add another for felt and batten so like the x9 14 stone chaps lying on the roof full time :) clear span tables I've googled are 3.4m @15-22 degree and 3.2m for flat...

    Advice on outbuilding wall insulation

I bought a 14x8 shed once which had been used as a room for a nursery School in the playground, had been heated etc. It had polystyrene for insulation wedged inside the sheds framework and been boarded over with chipboard T&G flooring but what they had done first was line the inside of the shed...

    Roof rafter sizes

Thanks Woody appreciate your input. From google I'd read @15 - 22 degrees it was 3.4m clear span for 150x47mm C24 rafters so it put them within the range but certainly not in the middle. I've added 5m on the back of the garage already and started putting them up at weekend and got nervy because...

    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

Good point foxhole but 1200 is the maximum (for Smartsystem anyway) so with a three door, going smaller would oversize the other two but was not something I'd considered, so thanks for the suggestion.

    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

Hi, so assume one door open on frame side and the other back onto another door? Do you find the door size manageable, I'm staring at some 1200x2400 temporary boarding at the moment and it looks WIDE :) plus we've kids, just wondering if one would get pinned behind it swinging open or the wind...

    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

Hi, looking for feedback from installers ideally I suppose, on Smart Systems Visifold 1000 bi folds. Extension opening 3640mm x2090mm (so sizing 10mm under), want a traffic door, toyed with 3 door version but near 1.2m a door seems huge (anyone fitted and/or can comment?) So think 4 door...
