Go for a smaller radiator than 1400, and get some radiator tail extensions or long radiator tails and cut them down to size, if you do want the 1400 rad then the pipes will need altering

Pipes should run either up or down, so drilling to the side of the pipes should be fine, shine a light into the holes and see what direction the pipe bends

For me it’s new enclosure, new panels, and what ever happens to the Plasterboards happens, ie repair/replace, once it’s all out and cleaned up, inspect the tray for damages, let them carry on and inspect things as the job progresses, for piece of mind Id give them the chance to put stuff...

you may get lucky, and the profile will cover them, but the enclosure might then be to far back/forward and look stupid against the tray, personally I’d be getting them panels and the enclosure replaced due to holes in the enclosure that have been drilled
