i need a teeny weeny laptop - without a screen & keyboard :?

Im not to sure what hosts & devices means but the ones I have seen on ebay etc are for putting information in rather than getting information out (if that makes sense) they cost a fiver - so cant possibly replace a laptop?

I have a data logger that needs a windows PC to store the data via a USB lead. Is there a gizmo that just does this without the need of a laptop? ie something small that the USB plugs into that just records the data onto a sd card or even on to itself?

Soldering with a blowtorch , a pot of flux & solder may be an issue lol. I often repair burnt relays & the like on pcbs so hopefully I will think of a way. Maybe that Maplin blank pcb (stripboard?) or maybe solder direct to some cable. I will put all four in a box ( with the four data log...

right so I have a ratio of 220 - 5 = 44:1 so if i put a 43ohm in series with a 1 ohm & put 220 across them both but take the 5v across the 1 ohm I am there in principle? Does the +/- 5v suggest AC or either 5v+ or 5v-?
