Thanks for your comments, I don't think that it's burnt food on the side wall of the microwave, I think that this is where the magnatron is situated, looks like some air vents there. If a microwave was turned on without anything inside would that create the burning?

Hi, been on here before about my 95 year old mother's microwave which tends to be abused fairly regularly. Latest situation is a burning smell and signs of burning on one of the inside walls of the microwave. Any ideas please, thanks.

Yes u could also do as u said and trim the rigid one, the bore hole may be smaller on the telescopic

I think u need the telescopic one, the rigid one at 55mm may be too long

The connection that they give u going into the rad valve won't work as it only connects into a 3/4 inch valve. Their connection comes with an integral o ring which u won't have as u can only put an olive and then the 1/2 connection on yours. U may be better trying to change for an extension that...

So are rad valves changing from 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch or have there always been 2 sizes or is it just for trv.......I wonder

Hi, I thought that u were going for the 1500 rad? I don't use Trv's and must admit to not knowing much about them , looks like they have a 1/2 inch connection, wonder if all Trv's have that same size connection and why? Doesn't help in our situation, I haven't seen the extension pieces to cater...

I have replaced a few imperial rads with metric and I use these from screwfix. 78169. I just replace the chrome pipe with a longer section according to your measurements. Works every time and doesn't leak, or not yet anyway

As Mot man said, fill her up and press the start button. It's not going to blow up. Then just get a normal service and u could mention that it's been off for a while.

Ian, when the wc was fixed the hot water tank possibly plus the cold tank took a long time to fill up. I think that when the wc was overflowing someone had a lot of hot water use and because water was pouring out of wc overflow it wasn't filling hot water cylinder. That's my theory. Could be...
