Dealing with cat poo in the lawn

Unfortunately it has been raining here all day, so clearing up the mess was impossible. Will have to leave it for few days. The forecast is that it will be raining all week. :( Yeah, we had the infrared activated water spray too. It was actually the only device that worked in keeping the...

Dealing with cat poo in the lawn

Nothing really worked for deterring cats coming onto the garden, and defecating on the grass. Cat repellents on sale we have tried are all useless. I have totaled the amount of money spent on the cat repellent devices from Amazon and eBay and Liddle. It came to about £200. But nothing really...

    Best way for levelling slabs?

I am putting down some slabs in the back garden by myself. I dug out the old plants and trees, dug the ground 15 - 20cm, and put down type 1 MOT sub base. I ordered sharp sand and cement. In the past, I put down sharp sand on the compacted MOT type 1, and pour the cement, mix them with rake...

    Best foundation for gardenshed?

Hi all We are planning to put a new garden shed. Cleared all the plants, and dug up the ground and poured MOT1 sub base. Just wondering what would be the best foundation in price, longevity, ease of levelling, and speedy installation time? First option came to mind was paving slabs, but they...

Best place to buy MOT Type 1 Sub Base

If buying big amount of the sub base, then it would be good idea to get them from the quarry hiring a van provided the quarry was near enough.

Best place to buy MOT Type 1 Sub Base

Did some search on Local Gravel Yards, but nothing better came up either in quality, price or delivery aspects. Some traders which I have never heard of popped up, but their price were as high or even higher as / than B&Q or Travis Perkins. There was also Jewson, but they were most expensive...

Best place to buy MOT Type 1 Sub Base

We are working on the new shed in the garden, and dug out some plants, and dug out the soils as well. Now it is the stage where we need to put down MOT Type1 Sub base into the soil. But where would be best place to order it? The local B&Q branch has been showing OUT OF STOCK for days, and seems...

    Midgies in the garden problem

What would be best way to deal with the midgies in the garden? They are active these days, and bite folks in the garden trying to work. We have tried the midgy mesh from Amazon, but midgies still get through the mesh. The mesh was totally useless for the purpose. We might be running camp fire...

I also have a wood burning stove in the shed with the 2ndary burning chamber design. It also burns very clean with almost no smoke when fed with dried and seasoned logs.

    Apple tree question

Great advice thanks. Too late. I dug it up, and moved it last night. It was very deep rooted, and took an hour of digging. The root had some damage in the middle of digging by the shovel blade. I dug up the corner of the garden, and moved it to there, gave good amount of water. This morning...

We use it to heat space of the patio to sit around at cold nights, but sometimes boil the water to make coffees and teas, and on some occasions also do BBQ placing the grill on the fire.

We just wish the tree to survive in bushy form, when moved to the corner of the fence. Not expecting any apples from it.

    Apple tree question

The apples it produced were some type of cooking apple, and they were eaten by the bugs, hence we were not bothered with the apples it produces at all. When the tree were planted, it was about 1 ft tall.

    Apple tree question

Most bush shurbs would be able to stop dogs, but nothing can stop cats. Cats will come through anything. Here we don't see horses or deers in the area, so they are not the issue. Cats are alwasy big problem. They do lots of damage, killing birds and leaving the carcass in the garden, digging...
