    Power of attorney questions.

My sister and I just arranged one in Scotland for a parent, cost via our local "family law attorney" was £297. We felt it better to go via a lawyer to ensure it's all above board. edit... the bill included any fees

Large diesel engines - cold starts - old starts - bulldozer starts

I don't have pics or videos but this reminds me of the morning starting ritual of an old Leyland skip truck my dad owned in the 80's (it was old even then). It didn't turn over fast enough so we used to jump start it using the electric welder - one person on the key shouting go to the welder...

    No Hols This Year Then

Per the title of this thread "No hols this year then"... A guy at work was saying he hadn't had a holiday last year, and this year wasn't looking good either, so decided to book a good one for next year but wasn't sure where to go. He put a map of the world up on the wall and handed his wife a...

Is a new Turbo the same as a new engine? Peugeot 307?

Check condenser prices at a radiator specialist, they're the same thing. The one I fitted to a 2007 Citroen C4 a few years ago was about £100 instead of several hundred quid from Citroen.

    Advert overload.

I also haven't noticed any difference in adverts, and don't recall ever seeing a full page one. I use a desktop pc and an ipad, and am always logged in when browsing the site.

    Are magnetic door contacts problematic?

Update... it did the same again another night. Walk tested it again later that day but on one of my open-close procedures the test said the door was still open. Ordered and fitted a replacement a couple of weeks ago and haven't had any bother since. Fingers crossed Thanks again for your help

    Are magnetic door contacts problematic?

Thanks mate, there doesn't seem to be any damage, and it hasn't done it again since. Looks like I'll just need to monitor it.

    Are magnetic door contacts problematic?

Hi, A few nights ago I set "night set" on my Galaxy G2-12 and closed/locked the door, as I often do when off to work. OH phoned a few mins later with an alarm condition, fault shown was entry t/o front door. I'm guessing the alarm thinks the front door had been opened but it hadn't. I've...

    Car Leasing

I'd think if you return it at the end of the contract and walk away there wouldn't be any cash either way, except excess miles or damage.

    Car Leasing

Can't answer your question per se, but my sister in law has had a few pcp cars in recent years. With each one she has been phoned a early (maybe even a year early IIRC) to tell her it's the ultimate best time to trade for a newer car. Doing it early also means any excess mileage isn't charged...

ADE Accenta Mini 8 Keypad Replacement

I dismantled one of those keypads recently due to one of the buttons needing a much harder press than the others. A light/careful clean of the contact bits and it's as good as new. Edit - the one I dismantled was a separate keypad, not part of the alarm panel.

Maco tilt n turn window mechanism not operating properly

Hi, Tilt and turn window with Maco mechanism wouldn't close. The handle won't turn upwards to the turn position, it is in the horizontal tilt position, but the window is turned inwards. I've temporarily removed the fouling bottom keep on the frame and can close and lock the window. The handle...

    Trolley jack bother

Check the minimum height. Some are too high to get under a car without running it onto some blocks first.

Replacement integrated washing machine has holes in different positions

Can the washing machine height be adjusted so that the original bottom hole would be correct? It'll probably make a mess of the door if you try to overlap the holes.
