Replacement Plug O Ring Seal - Which size?

Thank you BOTH ever so much. Durrr, silly me. I was given it as a gift, first time ever using it and the battery has gone flat so was trying to do it manually. I have re-done thanks again to both of you. I am getting for the inner measurement 35mm: And for the outer 39mm: I have notices...

Replacement Plug O Ring Seal - Which size?

I need to change the seals on my bathroom sinks as the O Rings have started to become very loose. I have taken some measurements and I am getting 33mm wide for where the rubber actually attaches to: The outer measurements of the plug are 34mm: Can anyone recommend some suitable O Rings that...

    Adding smart thermostats

I am thinking of getting a set of smart thermostats to help keep my heating costs down. I have a combi boiler, no hot water tank and two thermostats. One for downstairs and one for upstairs radiators. They are battery powered thermostats and this is the cabling behind in the backbox: Can...

    Composite Door Replacement Glass

One of the planes of glass in my composite front door shattered during the summer. Maybe a temperature issue as nobody damaged it. As it is double glazed, there is just one layer of glass left so not ideal. I contacted IG Doors, the manufacturer and after quite a few weeks of chasing, I have...

    Clumsy Fibre Install damaged wall

An update... I did actually contact EE about this in the end as I needed to speak to them about some discrepancies with the bill. They took it really seriously and forwarded it to Open Reach's insurers - a little bit extreme but there we go. The insurers have asked me to complete a form but it...

Texecom Premier Elite 64-W "Charger Fault" error

Thanks for the posts guys. Just emailed them now. Never had this issue before, but had so many issues with the SmartCom coming off of network. It is hardwired on ethernet, been an absoloute pain. Last time I spoke to them, they said there was another firmware update, ever since I applied that...

Texecom Premier Elite 64-W "Charger Fault" error

Hello, I keep getting the same error showing on my Texecom system, I installed it in April 19 so I am surprised it is already having issues. The error on screen is Charger Fault. If I log in using Wintex, I can see loads of Charger Fault messages in the log starting on 5/8/22 so it is a...

    Clumsy Fibre Install damaged wall

Thanks for the post guys. This is not coax it is fibre and this is exactly how BT Openreach left it. Not very impressive at all is it? I have not had the time to go and get materials. I said at the start of this post, I don't have the energy to go back to EE who are my broadband providers and...

    Clumsy Fibre Install damaged wall

Hello, Thanks for your post and recommendation. I can see they do it at Screwfix so I might grab one. It is on an unhidden wall hence me thinking of getting one of the covers, just so I don't have to look at that brickwork. Could have been much worse I guess, but it will get on my nerves if I...

    Clumsy Fibre Install damaged wall

Maybe not a DIY Disaster but a pretty poor way to leave my new fibre install by the BT Openreach engineer. My line is still not hooked up but when I ventured outside to see how the cable had been run, this is what I was greated by. The brick isn't too bad I guess, looks like maybe he turned...

    Replacement Glass Composite Door

Hello, quick update. I used a carpenters awl, it got them out, they are all damaged though so maybe I can re-fill with some sealant if I am careful. So glad to have the beading off as now I can measure the pane and get a new pane made up. Thanks for your suggestions.

    Replacement Glass Composite Door

Thanks guys, any ideas on what I should use to prize them out. They are slightly, very slightly rubbery. What I mean is if I prod with a knife, there is a little bit of give, minimal where as the bezel is rock solid. It looks like once I get them out, they won’t go back in nicely, so I will have...

    Replacement Glass Composite Door

Somehow one of the internal panes in my IG composite door has shattered. As it is double glazed, the front, outside facing pane is still there so the house is secure. I have tried to remove the beading but I am getting stuck wherever there is a circular marking on the beading. Does anyone...

Markings to wall under my boiler

Thank you. I did wonder if it might just be condensation, but it is strange that the markings have only just shown as I have been living here since the house was built. It isn't like the heating has been on now for a while so the boiler sees very little use as it is just me here. I am going to...

Markings to wall under my boiler

Thanks for all of your help guys.:) Update: I have cut around the pipes, I found that the right hand copper one seemed wetter in the plaster. As you can see below, the plaster is mainly dry, just a very small amount of moisture which I am guessing has accumulated over time. There was foam just...

Markings to wall under my boiler

What do you recommend I dig out with? A screwdriver or something similar? I don't think my buildings insurance will cover this as it would be classed as a slow leak.

Markings to wall under my boiler

Thank you and thanks for everyone in getting back to me. I took another look today but the plaster feels moist. I pushed my finger and it went into the plaster. It seems wetter around the plastic condensate pipe. Once it goes into this wall, I can’t see where the pipes come out. Boiler is...
