    Kitchen Extractor Replacement

Have you considered using a fan with motorized louvres or iris to stop draughts when not in use?

    EDPM Roof Repair Patch

Well I'm totally inexperienced but strongly suspect it's GRP. The only EPDM I've handled was sort of like vinyl cushion floor to the touch, and I'm sure you know what a fibreglass bath feels and sounds like. Personally I agree with cdbe's suggestion of capping it. Provided it's not leaking at...

    EDPM Roof Repair Patch

I'm no expert but I would have guessed that was GRP/fibreglass. Does it yield to finger pressure?

    Fitting kitchen extractor

Naturally you will remain sceptical but I can only say that what I understand to be this phenomenon in fact happened to me personally about a decade ago. Very new mug, only ever washed by hand, one of those truncated cone shapes if that's relevant. Soft water area. Took it out of microwave...

    Which method of insulation construction

I can't really advise but are you sure those floor joists are beefy enough? They almost look like the sort of dimensions you'd see on decking.

Right tool to cut half partition wall lower?

From a battery powered angle grinder? That was some going. Did you miss the part where I said "comfortably"? As in, if you can't do it comfortably, don't do it

MapGrip D1 on plaster. Primer or not?

I would take "ready to use" to mean dilution unnecessary

MapGrip D1 on plaster. Primer or not?

Is it this one? https://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-primer-g-5kg/5309p Q&A says the following: "Mapei Primer G can be used diluted 1:1 with water when going onto gypsum plaster. More than one coat may be required depending on porosity."

    Have I killed this tree

If it is dead I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, because it looks like a very modest expanse of fairly thin chippings.

MapGrip D1 on plaster. Primer or not?

If you've already bought the primer it's very little effort to use it now and a lot of effort to strip it all back later because something's dropped off after you thought it was all done and dusted.

Right tool to cut half partition wall lower?

If you're going to totally misrepresent what I wrote in plain English why stop with the angle grinder? Why not pretend I advised bashing a hole in the wall with the wheel brace of a Rover 2000 and packing the void with thermite before dropping a catherine wheel down there whilst singing My Way?

Right tool to cut half partition wall lower?

Just to avoid doubt: I wouldn't use a full-blown beast, just one you can comfortably hold in 1 hand with a ~5 inch (metal cutting) blade

Right tool to cut half partition wall lower?

Are you happy you will be able to stiffen it up again after cutting out the top section of metal? Remember it has to be self-supporting which is asking a lot of a hollow wall. Wonder whether you could rivet some herringbone type struts in from above If I were going to cut the metal I'd use...

    Stubborn Stain

If you mean the other left.. I'm wondering whether it's somehow been less sun faded. The grain in that middle panel is just gorgeous btw

That's a lot of garages

    Crack in lintel above window.

My gut feeling is that this is not a DIY job but there's probably no harm in hacking the render off to inspect. Balcony looking a bit iffy too, suspect the rebar has rusted

EICR : Should I Update My Consumer Unit first or have the EICR First ?

Well having seen that it refers to a 1989 standard on the main switches I will assent to that compromise:mrgreen:

EICR : Should I Update My Consumer Unit first or have the EICR First ?

Why is EICR a legal requirement? Are you letting it out? The benefit of getting the EICR first is if there are faults that need rectifying you have a bit more leisure to sort them out, whereas if faults only become apparent once the new consumer unit has been installed the electrician has you...
