Who is at fault in this dashcam video?

I would say oncoming vehicle was more at fault, 60/40. I would think insurers would settle knock for knock though, therefore the correct answer to the OPs question is... "the person insisting it goes through insurance is a moron".

    Electric boiler for dhw only

I think the stat is set to 65°. The immersion runs down about 2/3 depth of cylinder.

    Electric boiler for dhw only

Ok thanks. Are there combi options for hot water that doesn't require a tank? Current hot cylinder is copper, clad in green insulating foam with an insulation jacket over top. I'll change the times on it so it comes on 1am-7am abs see if that makes a difference to amount of hw available.

    Electric boiler for dhw only

Cut a long story short... the wife doesn't like the immersion heater/tank idea as she runs out of hot water showering/washing her hair. Plus she wants to free up the cupboard space that the hot cylinder is taking up. We have a 3kw immersion that runs for an hour in the mornings then half hour...

Nest 3rd gen - no hot water control??

I ran the taps for a good few minutes to drain the heat store, the boiler fired up during this and continued to run for a minute or two after I shut off tap, I think it ran until heat store was up to temperature again (it read 63° on display).

Nest 3rd gen - no hot water control??

Ok, got it set up so that the hot water isn't 'always on' and is only on when called for by Nest... however its still always on?? In the app/stat I have hot water turned off, yet using a hot tap causes the boiler to fire up to reheat heat store.

Nest 3rd gen - no hot water control??

Ok cheers muggles, I'll get him back to rewire it (or do it myself if it's straight forward) and hopefully all will be ok. Odd that it has to be done this way, I would've thought having the dhw on/off option would be available under a combi set up.

Nest 3rd gen - no hot water control??

Ok, set it up as a system boiler, just testing it all now. Hot water control has appeared in the app, however I can't turn hot water on/off? If I turn on hot tap & drain the storage tank in boiler, the boiler kicks in & reheats it, this is what I want to stop it doing when I'm away. In the app...

Nest 3rd gen - no hot water control??

Thanks, I'll give that a go. Would that not affect how it works as I have a combi boiler, not a system boiler?

Nest 3rd gen - no hot water control??

Hi Sorry another Nest thread... Just had my Nest 3rd gen fitted to new combi boiler, W/B Heatslave II external combi (oil). Nest fitted & working ok for heating, but not for hot water. There was no running hot water and no option in app or on stat to turn it on? Heating engineer has set...

    10.5kw shower on 40a mcb

hi as per title.. is this safe? its on a 10mm² cable laid across loft on top of insulation, approx 8m run (1m from shower to 45a isolator switch, then 7m from switch to c.u). I know it should be on a 45a mcb, but it's not. never had a problem with it tripping etc. shall I replace to 40a mcb...
