The three thermostats ...ground floor, first floor and next to the water tank on the cupboard on the first floor all turn off at 10.30pm. Yet green flame light was still on at 11.15pm and the boiler was quietly whirring away. Why is this?

I've a new boiler but when away for three weeks on holiday, is it best to turn off the boiler ....or.....turn the three thermostats off?
