Boundary dispute of rear garden fence

Hi, I am writing on behalf of a friend of mine who has a rear garden boundary issue. My friend lives in a Victorian terraced house which she has lived in for the past 20 years. There is a terrace of identical houses to the rear of her property and the issue is the position of the rear garden...

    Concrete Pillar Caps

Thanks guys... The question about Postcrete or similar still stands as it is mainly composed of small aggregates. I'd like to think it would provide a nice smooth finish and vibrate well to get rid of voids. On the negative side, presumably it isn't so strong?

    Concrete Pillar Caps

I have a couple of pillar caps to install on my driveway. I've decided to go down the plastic mould route and make my own but I'm not sure of the best type of concrete to use. I could of course use a standard mix concrete, alternatively something out of a premixed bag to get a really nice...

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

Paypal has the agreement from Gravelmaster to refund so long as I return the current delivery at my cost. Paypal is now paying me the return delivery in the form of a token which is not ideal but means I'm not out of pocket. Ideally, I'd like to take them to court but that would mean taking...

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

The outcome to this PITA is that Paypal did come to the rescue. I phoned them up and after a conversation telling me they only pay out a max of £15 for a return they did give me a £60 token to cover this cost. Not sure if Gravelmaster is getting way with its shoddy practice again, but at least...

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

I ordered 40mm Plumbrown slate and received poor quality blue slate which had a large %age of stones < 40mm. The ticket also said blue slate.

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

Unless someone can give me confidence that Paypal is worth pursuing then I think the small claims court is the way to go... Someone has suggested sending Gravelmaster a LBA (letter before action) and give them 7 days to respond before going to the small claims court. Never having done anything...

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

Some great information guys..... I bought using Paypal and I raised a 'not as described' claim when Gravelmaster refused to play ball. Paypal has since told me that Gravelmaster is prepared to refund me the full £128 so long as I pay all refund postage. Obviously, this is of new use to me as...

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

Thanks for the info. I have been told that Paypal only pay a max of £15 towards return transport, not sure if that's true? Will cost far more than £15 for me, so not much help there... Do I approach my local council trading standards or the council near the supplier, or does it even matter? or...

Stone delivery company won't fully refund my money

Hi, I ordered a large tonne bag of decorative stone from a company called Gravelmaster for £128 which included free delivery. Unfortunately, they didn't deliver the correct stone but the delivery company wouldn't return it as they said they were a different company and I'd have to take the case...

    REVERSE CIRCULATION

Apologies, I'm not explaining myself very well.... I did not want to go over the possible reasons for reverse circulation as I this has been fully confirmed. My question is about the possible problem of the original plumber pushing to use a non return valve as an easy fix rather than replumbing...

    REVERSE CIRCULATION

Hi, Reverse circulation has been confirmed by another plumber attending site, see below:

    REVERSE CIRCULATION

I'm just after a bit of ammunition for reasons why I don't want to accept a non return valve if that is what is being proposed. I'm sure that the builder will know nothing about CH and will simply agree with the plumber. I'm thinking of the following reasons but not sure if they are relevant...

Thanks, are there any issues with having a non return valve in place in the long term?

    REVERSE CIRCULATION

Hi, I had an 'S' plan CH system installed by a plumber who was subcontracted to builder. Since it was installed, it has suffered from reverse circulation with the upstairs rads getting hot when the HW is switched on/CH switched off. I am meeting with both the plumber and builder this week to...

Paint cracking due to seasonal changes

I think caulk is the way to go, its just what brand of caulk to use. Something low modulus I would presume which expands/contracts with the weather and is over-paintable. Anybody know a good brand to use??
