I employed a plumber to diagnose and fix a problem that I have with my hot water circuit. I have a sealed S plan system with the 2 valves which works fine with the CH but only works intermittently with the HW. The plumber checked the valve and diagnosed the problem as the programmer so returned...

The claim is still ongoing so I'll not be out of a pocket. I guess I was getting overly involved as my central heating probs were not getting sorted. I also had a prob with the HW not coming on which was sorted by a replacement programmer.

Thats the next step. I only got involved as the original plumber refused to acknowledge there was a problem.

The quote has been sent to the builder who is now sitting on it. I'm still awaiting how they wish to progress. At least I've proved to everybody that there actually is a problem to be sorted.

The return from the bathroom rad is the flexi one you can see next to the screwdriver in the below pic. It rises vertically in 15mm pipe by the door jamb, through the floor and rises about 500mm, cranks out and goes over the CH valve where it goes vertically downwards, picking up the outlet...

Bathroom rad is on a summer circuit as was the rad which was removed from that bathroom. All pipework is new.

Hi Ian, Can you elaborate? Are you saying the pipe beneath the cylinder can be connected correctly to the boiler return without cylinder removal and not using a non return valve?
