    Thermostat behaving abnormally

Hi When I go to bed I manually set my thermostat to 17.5 so the temperature never falls below and when we wake up it is not too cold. However, recently in the morning the temperature is actually BELOW what i set. There is not an 'auto' programme set on there either. Example: When waking up...

    Fix wall paint crack

Thanks! Not sure on the plaster. This was bult about 2018. We moved in in 2020. We have the in-built fan that clicks in when you turn on the light. There is high humidity in there we think. The tapes have 'blown' and we are getting someone to fix that.

New build: Plaster and paint en-suite costs

Hi I live in a new build (been built about 6 years, we have lived here 3). In the en-suite, the tape has blown and we have some paint cracks in the walls. I have been told this is because the walls/ceiling were not plastered. So, I am getting some quotes to: -Plaster all walls and ceiling...

Central Heating questions: New build radiators

Thanks everyone. This is a combi-boiler. I have asked this question elsewhere too, and it has been pointed out that the upstairs thermostat is in the main bedroom (an not the hallway) and it is possible that this thermostat controls the temperature of that room ONLY, and the downstairs...

    Advice on bathroom leak fix

I fitted the temporary solution yesterday - so it is too early to tell to see if the carpet is no longer wet... so yes it could be something else... Plumber showed me the water running along the pipes when he sprayed the water on to the tap base. after the temp fix i sprayed it again and could...

    Advice on bathroom leak fix

Yes the plumber took the panel off and decreed that was the issue. There is zero tap movement. He showed me the water running along the pipes when he sprayed the water on to the tap base. I then did a temporary fix - as per the photos - and sprayed it again and could not see the water on the pipes.

    Advice on bathroom leak fix

Have just checked and it is very firmly in place and not loose. So on this basis it makes me think tightening the tap wont even work and it is just an oversight when the tap was fixed that it wasnt sealed correctly. Think silicone around the base is the next step and fingers crossed thats all...

Hi We recently moved into a property that is about 3yrs old. Ever since we have used the shower we have had a leak that is showing by the wetness on the carpet in the adjoining room. Having called in a plumber they have advised the water is coming through a gap where the tap is installed...
