This has happened before. Was working alright but in either extreme heat or extreme cold cant shut it (kitchen window.) I have to swivel the handle to move the pins around to get it to close. What causes this? How can I fix it? Thanks

Couldn't get the screws out of the hinges, their threads were done for. Couldn't hammer the pin up in the bottom hinge. Resorted to using a reciprocator saw to shave off the wood that was bulging out on the left side as shown here and just about managed to lock the door. .

I was thinking take the middle-screw out in the bottom hinge and put a longer one in.

It's the bottom left corner from the outside its catching on the frame like its expanded. I think it's to do with the hinges, I'll upload photos

Not biting? Water-vinegar solution, I just did it, it worked great. Didn't even have to use a special cloth, used a sponge to smear the solution around the window and then a cloth from Poundland to clear it all up.

So do your windows get streaked after they get washed?

I think I've found an easier solution all round. Mix 50% water with 50% vinegar, fill a water -pistol with solution then use a step ladder to get a good squirt of upstairs windows. Use cloth 1 to wipe solution away then second cloth to smooth it/dry it all out.

What are you on about? This is the first time that i have heard that tap-water causes streaks!! . I have NEVER washed upstairs windows with a telescopic extension other than 2 days ago.
