    Low Water Pressure

Although yes a cold pump from a tank is an option too ....

    Low Water Pressure

Sorry I’m a bit confused about the same pressure bit? Surely any mixer will be limited by the feed with the most flow / pressure? And won’t the thermostatic mixer deal with some of the fluctuations? I get the quantity of water issue but in the future I can get a big unvented water tank and...

    Damp in cellar

I have a small cellar that used to be a coal bunker (normally not accessible as it’s blocked off). It’s about 1.6m deep x 2m x 3m across. Just been under the floor and the gable wall is ringing wet under the cellar. Render looks fine, isn’t blown and Timbers appear ok but it’s very damp. The...

    Washing Machine Weight

Ok I’ve slept on it and I’m ****ibly over thinking it. I’m going to build an osb stud wall structure underneath and fix to the concrete floor (with damp membrane to protect the timber, although it’s not a damp floor) Then whack a layer of rockwool under that area to dampen the sound?

    Low Water Pressure

Not decided exactly which one yet but I’m probably looking at min 100ltr It’s not really about increasing flow, just more about mananging drops in flow / pressure. The plan at the moment is this 1: install cold water accumulator 2: leave one electric shower in main bathroom 3: pump hot...

    Sub-Board - Second Consumer Unit

Thanks blame Brexit Seriously though I’m not sure what constitutes a decent job? There’s money waiting but other than the sub board it’s just a standard kitchen rewire?

What the hell is this? Damp? Condensation? Mould?

Could be sticky residue from the foam work around the edges I guess

What the hell is this? Damp? Condensation? Mould?

Just been under the floor and despite the usual musty Victorian cellar smell the underneath of the boards and cavity is bone dry. I’m guessing it could be vapour getting trapped between the ply and the chipboard? Smells damp when I sniff it

What the hell is this? Damp? Condensation? Mould?

Just taken up some relatively new amtico and underneath the ply there seems to be trapped moisture or mould or something else? There’s no water in that end of the building! What’s happened?

Ok so for arguments sake let’s say the sparky ran the cable ... and I didn’t touch it. What size cable would you spec to run a sub board to the kitchen :)

    Joist q for loft conversion

Those joists ceiling joists span from stud wall to stud wall. I doubt they are actually 6.5m long. Whatever happens they are only strong enough for light storage at best.

But yeah .. see the original image. It's an old blocked off coal bunker

Lol .. Wouldn't fancy getting the washing back out after? I've only got short arms :P

    Sub-Board - Second Consumer Unit

Exactly that ... I've found that a lot of sparkies CBA to be lifting 100 year old floorboards, or spending too much time thinking about where to hide cables unless its a well paid job. Getting people to even come and give you a price is a nightmare.

    Washing Machine Weight

Think I'm going to build a solid platform but it's about 4ft deep. My Plan is as per the attached (pinched from another thread) .. I'm going to build a blockwork wall up to floor height. Can I backfill this cavity with any old rubble like old bricks etc (removed from the chimney that's being...

    Sub-Board - Second Consumer Unit

I'm seeking a second opinion and we are very much at the planning stages, so opening up to the world of knowledge (or strangers on the internet) can be a good thing. If you clever chaps come up with an alternative solution or make some negative observations then that's the idea of the forum...

    Concrete washing machine base

Hi Dave, Did this work for you? I want to do pretty much the same but I have a deeper void to fill (about 4ft). It sounds like a huge drum when it spins. It's not bouncing so it's level... it's just the vibration and it does mine (and my neighbours head in)
