Does home insurance cover this sort of thing? They have been over and are now sending a structural engineer around as the first rep didn't know what had caused it. I give it a no chance they cover this sort of claim after reading their T&c's. I thought there nothing to lose anyway making a claim.

I don’t think so. I noticed the damage on New Years Day, so 4 months now and no more issues or moisture. The soil behind now is pretty dry. The crack in the wall follows the path of the water ingress that I managed to get behind the wall through washing cars and bikes.
