The old switch had Live, C and X as labels on the switch. Black was in C. Brown in Live. Grey in X. I've tried to wire it up the same way on another switch with the same markings but still no voltage shown anywhere while hooked up. JH

Spoke with Terry on the phone and managed to sort out this simple problem. It was a matter of putting both live wires into the L terminal and the other 2 into the X terminals, but crucially, using a new lightwave switch because I may have burnt out the other one with my incorrect wiring. Thanks...

You mentioned the light going on. How can there be a light when they're all terminating in connector blocks? JH

Correct. They all work with me old light switch but cause problems with the new light switch. I don't know if its jus the bulbs I have (standard dimmable GU10) or if its the wiring. JH

I have single connector blocks like you see in the image. Will that do? What do you mean by 1/2 or bed and bath? How do I connect one with the other? JH

Ok this wiring with both lives in the X terminal and the non lives in the Live terminals has put all the lights on, but when I switch them off, they just dim down and don’t shut off. Seems like dim is the new off for the tests I’ve been doing.

They are both on the same fuse. It’s the same circuit. inhave now swapped the blue with the browns and still one side remains on. See image.
