Options for attaching rectangular PVC trunking

I looked in the wiki for "Working with PVC Conduit" but there was no entry. I want to run a length of 38 x 25 PVC trunking in a corner of a plasterboard lined room. Unfortunately, the plasterboard is Paramount board with some unseen metal studs /channel inside. It means I can't use...

Still having issues with the Texecom app unable to connect through ComWifi. Can anybody help please

To all reading this... Does any one know of a working installation of Texecom's comWIFI working reliably with a BTHomeHub? Maybe you might post this as a stand alone question.

Still having issues with the Texecom app unable to connect through ComWifi. Can anybody help please

I'm assuming WOL is Wake on LAN. No it won't help unfortunately. WOL is an energy saving protocol and your problem has nothing to do with that. Essentially, the HomeHub is forgetting that your ComWIFI is connected to it. That's why it disappears from the network diagram. The Address...

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

Unfortunately, I wasn't. I'm worried that burglary drones are starting to be used in Staffordshire. I think that these guys in the park must have met some of the Bedfordshire underground in a pub and bought their Python scripts. The deal probably went down like this:- "Psst. Want to buy a...

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

I'm sorry to shatter your cushy little world John, but I too saw a drone this afternoon. It was in the park. It was operated by two suspicious looking types dressed as teenagers, but I suspect that they might have been very young intelligence operatives in disguise. Their Sierra Estate looked...

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

Okay, I may have laid it on thick so I apologise. I'm not sure if you're just pulling my chain, or if you're having difficulty producing a coherent and consistent argument. However, final time around in detail:- Virtually impossible: This is from your blog as one of the types of jamming that...

Still having issues with the Texecom app unable to connect through ComWifi. Can anybody help please

You could have opened with this - I missed Newsnight ;) Unfortunately Nigel, I now have 80% confidence that you're screwed. Remember the forgetting I mentioned earlier? That's the problem. Your comWIFI module is a pretty dumb piece of kit, and for some pretty complex reasons to do with...

Just help me a moment. What is Wintex and where does it operate?

Still having issues with the Texecom app unable to connect through ComWifi. Can anybody help please

I can interpret this in several ways. So, the first thing you need to do is establish if the comWIFI module is still operating correctly when the notifications to your phone stop. And you need to do this without using the external /public network interface on the Homehub. That mean the PING...

Still having issues with the Texecom app unable to connect through ComWifi. Can anybody help please

Ideally, hardware like com units /servers should run on static ips. That's the industry standard and solves a great many issues. You should only use dynamic ips for user PCs. Is there an option for creating a static ip via the com unit? There probably is on simple kit like this. Look in the...

Accenta G4 Strobe Light connection for PA

Happen to have one of the Accenta G4 engineer's manuals on my bench. These are the available outputs for that panel. There isn't actually a PA output (there IS a PA input elsewhere though). You can use the STROBE output I guess. Be aware that it's specified as +12V latching which means that...

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

I had to read this twice to make sure you had actually written it. I'm hoping that you didn't mean it and just had trouble with your double negatives. I think that this is a worrying comment for you to make. It clearly marks your initial post as simple FUD, trying to scare casual readers...

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

They are ever so complicated aren't they? All those hot pipes and cogs. Oh wait. I've just been told that's the heating boiler... The cat doesn't either...

Just how many cores for a wired burglar alarm?

Are you aware of the huge irony of this statement, made on the day the Chilcot report is published?

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

Exactly! You've hit the nail on the head with a whopping great sledge hammer. It's a breakout board. That is the main argument of this thread and the reason for my rebuke of the original post. Yet the ARF is what Mr Gibbons is asking us to believe that [stupid] is going to use against your...

Alarm insecurity - jamming, replaying and brute-forcing on the Yale HSA6400

So, put your money where your keyboard is. This is the £29 Ciseco ARF transceiver mentioned in your blog post... Please give me one example of a burglar caught with one of these boards on their person. Just one please. That's all, then we can justifiably be worried about this new tech crime...

Just how many cores for a wired burglar alarm?

Twenty Four, is there any way you might post the wiring for your alarm sounder /strobe arrangement without compromising your security? I think that there are readers here that would be enlightened. We're pretty much off topic now anyway. I understand if it's impossible.
