Water pressure too high for boiler?

I have an older Feroli Modena 102 combi which came with the house. Never had any pressure issues until the system was partially drained for an extra radiator to be added. After topping water back up to approx 1.5 bar it would drop to 1 bar over a couple of days. No leaks found. When heating...

    How Long Is Too Long?

Apologies if this should be in a different forum section, but I specifically wanted the opinion of trades as this related to an issue I am having with a trade. I employed a building firm to build a small extension to my home. The extension is approx 12m square and is a bathroom and utility...

Costly fix hasn't worked. Where do I stand?

I'm hoping it won't come to that Doggit, but that is what I thought also. Will update this on Tuesday after he's been.

Costly fix hasn't worked. Where do I stand?

Spoken to the roofer and he seems genuinely disappointed that it didn't work. He is coming over next week to discuss. No written assurances but he's a well established and respected guy so hopefully there won't be any issues. I was more interested in whether or not I had any actual right in...

Costly fix hasn't worked. Where do I stand?

No idea how we'd know. The problem itself was complicated but he assured us he had seen it before and this would fix it.

Costly fix hasn't worked. Where do I stand?

Last year my roof was showing odd signs of water ingress. After much debate here and with various roofers a solution was put in place, which cost me approx £2k. The nature of the problem was such that it only really showed itself when the weather went from warm to cold and when there were high...

    Another extractor fan wiring question

It's not connected to a light. It is on its own spur. The one in my other thread was the one connected to the light switch.

    Another extractor fan wiring question

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear - the old fan had the 3 connectors but the cable was only 3 core, live, neutral and earth. There isn't a trigger switch which is why I assume there isn't a switched live. I have indeed removed the switched live link and it is working fine. Thanks for the help.

    Another extractor fan wiring question

There isn't a pl and a sl, that's the issue. Although I don't really want it triggered by a switch, I want it sitting monitoring the humidity and to turn on at a given point, not when someone turns say a light on.

    Another extractor fan wiring question

Ok. Asked a similar question yesterday but this one is slightly different hence the new post. I have just replaced a standard extractor fan with a humidistat/timer one. The fan is powered from a fused switch. The old fan had a switched and permanent live and a neutral, as does the new one. The...

    Extractor Fan Wiring

Thanks. In that case I think it is already there, just needs the humidistat bit. Should be a simple swap. Thanks.

    Extractor Fan Wiring

Thanks. So would the above wiring allow the fan to come on when set humidity was reached when the light wasn't on?

    Extractor Fan Wiring

Had a small extension built which has a bathroom in it. I had requested that the extractor had a humidistat installed to ensure it would run until the room was clear from the shower. I was told this was done. I have just opened up the fan case to see how to adjust the humidistat settings as it...

    Replacing extractor with heat recovery

Don't worry, I wasn't planning on buying it! Not at that price. The fan isn't running continuously, I'm just trying to get a balance between a reasonable temperature in the room and adequate ventilation for an area for drying clothes. I was wondering if a trickle on constantly would be better...

    Replacing extractor with heat recovery

Just found this. Fits the bill perfectly. Minus the cost... http://www.extractorfanworld.co.uk/envirovent-heatsava-intelligent-4-single-room-heat-recovery-unit-3217-p.asp

    Replacing extractor with heat recovery

Following on from my thread here http://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/room-not-heating-as-expected.469273/page-2#post-3759910 I have a new utility room which we have struggled to heat sufficiently but now seem to be there after a few changes of radiators. The utility has an extractor which runs at...

    Room Not Heating As Expected

Well, bit the bullet and replaced with a K2 as someone suggested earlier. Has made an obvious difference so a bit happier. Will be even more so if I can sell on the now redundant tall rad. Thanks for all the input.

    Room Not Heating As Expected

Just looked at Evohome and it looks very slick indeed. Mighty expensive though. Would rather make sure I have adequate heat source in the utility before I go down that route :-)

    Room Not Heating As Expected

I already have a Nest setup so would need to research this better. Disappointed if what I have is simply never going to heat the room properly.

    Room Not Heating As Expected

Yes we have proper ventilation set up. It is annoying pumping the warmed air out again but can't see what the other options are. If we were to replace the boiler yes I'd get it put on its own zone but cost wise that was out of the question just now.
