I know I thought that and the phone call was unclear but she did say after speaking to an advisor that is have to pay a fee for a repair if I remove the plug

    Fridge Freezer - Socket Advice

Rung Fridgemaster to check the warranty and they said it would void it cutting off the plug! I'm therefore thinking I'll go with a socket. Sounds like I might be best getting a waterproof one just in case.

    Fridge Freezer - Socket Advice

Hi All I'm looking for some advice. I broke my old integrated fridge freezer chiseling out ice - school boy error! The old appliance was connected into a round junction box which in turn was plugged into a double socket (pictures attached). I understand I shouldn't cut the plug off the new...

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

I was told my current boiler will struggle to heat 2 showers & 12 radiators (currently have 1 shower & 6 radiators). Also because it's now 11 years old. Do you think it still might be ok? Also, I've ordered this hive which is for combi boilers...

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

Unfortunately not! £115 cash and £60 bank transfer. He did say he would send an invoice for the PCB that hasn't come through. He was originally going to send it so I could ask Hive to cover the cost. So I could chase him again for that first...

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

Yeah he did charge £60 plus £181 for the PCB. He did say he'd come back and fit the replacement hive & do the boiler service for another £65. Initial quote was £115 to fit hive & service the boiler. To be honest it's the 2 PCB's that hurts as that's £362. Plus the £60 means £422 total, just...

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

Really appreciate all the responses! I can see much cheaper refurbished PCB's online. We're looking to get an extension next year & have been advised to get a new more powerful boiler at the same time. With that in mind do you think a refurbished part might be ok to last say 12 months? Just...

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

He couldn't get his head around it! But was saying that the receiver should only be sending 24v and that it was wired correctly. Obviously that's what was wrong. I'll brace myself for some tough conversations

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

Thanks so much for your help - so to fix I need to get a new PCB & the correct Hive. Is it reasonable for me to ask the gas engineer to cover the £440 for the 2 PCB's? Unfortunately as I've bought the wrong hive & it's past the return date anyway I think that's on me.

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

I saw this on other posts about a similar issue. Annoyingly I can't see any reference to the channel type on the product description when I bought it. Is this something the installer should have spotted or is it my fault I've bought the wrong hive?

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

Thanks - so could be a faulty receiver? Just 2 buttons on the front of the receiver. Sorry I should have added that it's sent 240volts into the boiler rather than 24 which has fried it.

Hive Mini & Blown Boiler PCB

Hi All I'm looking for some help. I've had a gas engineer around to fit a Hive Mini Thermostat (product no. 852033) onto my Glow Worm Ultracom 2 24cxi boiler (GC 47-019-10). Unfortunately the PCB blew after the first attempt. This was put down to the PCB being old. So new PCD purchased and it...
