Have a read of this thread: https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/insulated-timber-framed-garden-room.474157/ Also his youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyBa0yFBQO7Mc6sAZOMd-xujGuorZAs-- Helped me a lot.

Garden Office on old Asbestos Garage Slab

If it's unlevel then you either spend £££'s on a jack system or level it the normal way with blocks on a bed of mortar.

    Cold roof ventilation needed?

So I have a garden room with cold roof design. I'm aware of the guidance requiring ventilation for a cold roof as per: http://www.classicroofing.ie/pictures/insulationLittle.jpg My question is whether this is really needed if there is a full vapour membrane on the warm side of the insulation...

Garden Office on old Asbestos Garage Slab

Don't see the point of the quick jacks. If you have concrete below, just build a timber frame on top of 6 or 8 concrete blocks. Much cheaper. Note also that SIPs are more expensive than a traditional timber frame, and they are heavier and harder to manoeuvre. Also if this is going to be under...

Any builders familiar with Wimpey no fines houses?

If it's like mine, I think the joists are resting on that bar. I don't think it's under any tension, but I would also be afraid to cut it! There are also some bundled smaller bars at ground floor window level, which I encountered when drilling for an extractor. I routed the hose around them...

    Moving a manhole cover

I have the same question, but let me phrase it in a way which makes sense: What's involved in moving a manhole on a shared sewer? Will BC inspect this on behalf of the water company?

    hot tub shelter

You will want it to be wind-proof to be useable in the winter. A gazebo would just get soggy and mouldy and flap about. I'd be thinking of things like a metal shed: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Rowlinson-Metal-Apex-shed-W-O-floor-10x8/p/114220 . Just lower over the hot tub and job done.

    Mystery Insulation Board

No. You can still buy the stuff: http://www.travisperkins.co.uk/p/promat-supalux-2440-x-1220-x-9mm/556001/3893471

Change old S-trap toilet for modern P trap

The only way to do it right is to break up the floor and reroute the pipe. Anything else will be a bodge prone to blockages and leaks. Or put back the old toilet!

    sorting out an old floor

Perhaps concrete to level then ceramic/stone tiles over the lot. You don't need to worry so much about damp then.

Collapsed Drain? Subsidance? How bad? (Photo's)

Honestly. Never seen so much fuss over some poorly laid slabs. Just lift them up and put some more bedding material underneath, then relay them. Your drain hasn't collapsed. It's plastic and only a few years old. The conservatory settling is what almost all house extensions do, and can be...

    Plasterboard across 2 surfaces

Pretty much, yes. Otherwise I would think any tiny discrepancy or movement will be much more obvious and liable to cracking.

    Plasterboard across 2 surfaces

Just fix to the brick and then batten out the timber section as appropriate to match the correct depth. Make sure to overlap the join between the two walls with full boards. Easy.

    Mondeo tdci turbo

Almost certainly not seized in the sense of the turbine being seized, but more likely the variable geometry vanes are jammed with soot. Have a google for mondeo tdci turbo cleaning for tips on how to clean it.

    Various manhole issues

You don't do this kind of work when selling a house, generally. A house is sold as seen. If the buyer doesn't like something about the house, they can ask for the price to be lowered. That's it. Never start making costly alterations to a house for the sake of a buyer who might not actually...

Covering up wall damage next to bath

Get a sheet of white pvcu, like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/330713820318 .Get yourself some screws and wallplugs. Fix sheet to wall over that lot. Done!

    Project driveway

Yep, but leave the hardcore in place. It still works! Also I'd just pressure wash the walls and give them a fresh coat of paint. They look perfectly sound and just need a bit of a spruce up.
