Well I have applied this morning and will let you know how I get on, not holding out much hope as the boiler is to be fitted in the next couple of days and they dont issue the voucher retrospectively. Will keep you posted.

Gone for an 831 so as to get the increased waterflow. Only drawback is that they say they cannot fit a magnatec as no room in the pipework, they also say I dont really need one on a sealed system!

Are you saying that only registered gas fitters can apply? I have a boiler that qualifies and is to be replaced in the next couple of days,cant see how you apply though. Sods law dictates that I am too early.

As a matter of interest, the breakdown on a quote I got recently from BG included £45 a metre for changing a 15 mm pipe to 22mm, approx ten meters required =£450. Seems rather a lot for changing a length of pipe, even if they do have to lift a couple of floorboards. Is this about normal?

In a word 'no', nor did any of the other three including the British gas guy who wanted to install a powermax for £3,500. They just looked at the boiler, nodded and told her what she would need. Its a grim old world when you dont really know what you are doing!
