What have you been doing today?

We have the same with my step-father. He’s not as far along and Mrs Motties’ mum, but you can see the downward trend. My mum is basically his full time carer now. Like you say, the only consolation is that he’s blissfully unaware of it all.

    Dash Cam recommendation

The app is fine for what it is. You hardly use it to be honest, just once in a blue moon to download a video. It’s easy enough to use and does what you need.

    Dash Cam recommendation

Late to the party, but I have Blackvues in all of my cars. Mostly front and rear too. Excellent camera - set and forget, and discreet with no unsightly screen.

Jobs you wish you had never started

Got to love a good trench... did you dig it all with that little shovel?! :) Sorry to be 'that' guy, but I'd suggest you turn off the inside tap during the winter months as your pipe isn't buried very deep (regs want 750mm down for water) so there's a chance it could freeze/burst.

    Massive headphones - under 20's?

On a serious note, they could be harming people’s hearing: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgkjvr7x5x6o.amp On a less serious note, I see people wearing them and I just think ‘Frank n beans’, which will mean nothing to you unless you’ve seen the film Something about Mary :)

What have you been doing today?

Track day yesterday at the old Aintree GP track. Only did half a day as we had friends visiting in the afternoon…but it wasn’t a bad thing as I cooked my brakes. The Suzuki was the quietest car on track. It never looks very fast on video, but that was full beans. As my motion sensor...

    What have you bought today?

We couldn’t a seat the right shape for the toilet when we needed to change our one…which lead to a full bathroom refurb

    Insulating my ancient living room

Great, and thorough, job you’re doing there. Shame you can keep some of that old stone exposed, but I completely understand why you can’t.

    Workshop Mk2

Nice. If you haven't done an EPDM roof before, a warm (and dry) day is your friend and leave the membrane for as long as possible flat on the roof to allow any kinks/folds to drop out of it. I did my roof one January and the rubber never properly relaxed so I still see creases in the roof to...

    What have you bought today?

No I don’t think so as I believe it was the owner at the time that did the spannering. The car was actually auctioned a few months back as running and driving, I didn’t win the auction. Guy who bought it has suffered this failure and is now taking a financial hit to get rid. Obviously I’m...

Only if he’ll clean the gummy bears out of the carpets too :D

    What have you bought today?

New toy, but broken toy. Cambelt failed so needs a new engine. My friend’s mum had one of these when we were teenagers, and I’ve always wanted one ever since. I’ve also been looking for a race car, which this is, as my TVR racer project keeps stalling. So this ticks a couple of boxes :)

Bump up the memory for photos please

Yeah I thought as much re the scaling, so it should be no bother to increase the file size accepted. That’s what I’ve had to do for my project thread but it’s a PITA. Like I’ve said, thus request is about making the forum easier to use for all and to remove barriers that prevent people...

Bump up the memory for photos please

The above kind of proves my point, it’s a lot of faffing in order to upload pictures that should be uploaded at a click of a button. Every time I come on this site I have to click through adverts now, those click should have earned the site owners a few quid to pay for a bigger USB stick!
