    Gas vs oil worries

If installing the gas supply is free, then take it. If it means you need to pay a pernicious standing charge, then don't. With the current lack of an objective energy policy , like the song, the answer is Blowing in the Wind.

    Riello burner not firing

Which reset are you trying? Apart from the burner reset, There is a boiler limit thermostat which has a reset beneath the plastic ca;p on the control thermostat. Trying to fire with the photocell removed will still need the photocell to be obscured.

    Riello 40 g3b (oil boiler)

Start at the tank and bleed any filters before doing anything on the burner. If you have an isolation tap at the burner, turn it off and remove the flexible hose into the oil pump so you can be sure you have oil to that point. Replace that hose, then remove the hexagon plug at the bottom of the...

    Worcester Bosch Riello burnerd

Sooted boiler is ALWAYS down to too much fuel/too little air. Having taken out the burner and cleaned it is insufficient; you need to clean out all the baffles and flueways and ensure that the air intake is clear and that the burner fan is clear. As long as the burner runs when clean, the tiger...

    Frost stat heating radiators

The manufacturers recommendation is for the pipe frost stat to be set at 25c ish. This means that the indoor circuit will be above this before the return reaches in the target temperature in the garage. In the past, where customers have baulked at the 'waste' of fuel, I have moved the pipe stat...
