    LED Shower Niche

Great thanks for all the help Totally agree with you the kit is poor on the electrical side, Wagobox is a good idea, cheers Yeah its a bit expensive and bulky that vented enclosure, I think its best to use a small access panel instead as we have other equipment i.e the bathroom fan / vent...

    LED Shower Niche

Hi, I didn't ask about the driver location. But as you say the meanwell datasheet states "Cooling by free air convection" That said I guess that means all LED drivers shouldn't be stuffed in the ceiling void, but I bet most are installed in the ceiling void or some other air tight location...

    LED Shower Niche

Hi, I've just had an email back from Thermopanel, They are saying the LED is rated IP67.

    LED Shower Niche

Hi, still unsure how to proceed with the niche, If we get a better LED driver replacement (i.e. a decent one from TLC with T+E connections / 12v connections so the electrician can terminate properly) With the above 'upgraded' and however, does the 12v LED (unknown IP rating) itself still pose...

    LED Shower Niche

It appears Thermopanel is a reputable company, like I said I think the niche itself is good quality and looks good to be fair, but thermopanel don't advertise LED niches on their website, so I'm guessing a third party has added the poor quality LEDs.

    LED Shower Niche

The bottom pic... Yes that's light shining through to show the gaps on the middle shelf I guess either they purposely left gaps for drainage or it's poor welding.

    LED Shower Niche

Hi, The LED driver is going to be outside the bathroom / zones somewhere, probably in a access panel with the bathroom downlight driver also. Yes that's one of the 12v cables to LED. Good point on the unsheathed 240v cables, its all crap / dangerous. Shame as the niche itself is good...

    LED Shower Niche

Thanks for the help, Yeah I thought it was a bit concerning with the cables rubbing against the metal, wasn't cheap either at £150, So basically it's not fit for purpose, Looks like the LED should be rated to a minimum of IP44 (zone 1) or better IP65, Thanks

    LED Shower Niche

Hi all, Looking for some guidance with a stainless steel niche I've recently bought. Have some concerns about this kit, it is branded (Thermopanel) and bought from a reputable company (wetroom store) What I noticed is the middle shelf, the shelf drain is near the 12v cable entry, water is...

    Pressure reducing valve

Hi, currently no problems as no plumbing exists :ROFLMAO: I'm still renovating, so basically all plumbing is currently stripped back to internal stopcock, hence the plan of what is best to fit now rather than later, Not planning on oil boiler, just the basics really 24kw gas boiler, mixer...

    Pressure reducing valve

Thank you both for the advice and info, that's reassuring and saves time/money not fitting one if not essential (y)(y) Good idea just fitting a pressure gauge though  Maybe on the boiler filling loop? (think I've seen loops with 2 x gauges) As not much room near stopcock / DCV, Thanks again

    Pressure reducing valve

Hi, Would it be good practice to fit a PRV even if the mains pressure was normal i.e. 2 - 3 bar? More of a preventive measure, I assume pressure from the kerb mains could potentially spike/raise? Thanks for any help

    Finding a hidden water leak

Could it be electric shower / mixers weeping internal valves which isn't obvious i. e a long/intermittent drip could go unnoticed Can stopcocks weep in the open position (from the gland nut / turn shaft)

    Combi CH Pipework Layout

Hi, Thanks again for helping with this, I've only just got around to nearly finishing the pipework (as per the diagram above), apart from I have re-located the hallway radiator and I've ended up with two radiators back to back (hallway & wc rad) Looking for some guidance with the following...

    Double check valve query

Thanks both for the help much appreciated :giggle: I definitely cannot alter the incoming 15mm mains underground pipework (it is what it is no more digging ), happy to live with the output from that but obviously do not want to restrict the flow/pressure from this any further would be...

    Double check valve query

Hi, looking for some guidance on this please! Having stripped the plumbing back to the 15mm copper incoming mains and now re-plumbing the whole house. Intend to fit... 1. Pegler Lever Ball Valve (full bore) 2. Double Check Valve (wras approved) 3. Drain-Off cock My incoming mains pipework is...

    Combi CH Pipework Layout

Thank you for confirming it is a 2-pipe system Yes 2 lockshields on the room with thermostat, which is probably going to be the living room rad. Hallway has vaulted ceiling so I'm not sure if it would work well there That Vokera Vibe max 26c boiler looks good and around the same budget so yes...

    Combi CH Pipework Layout

Will do thanks (y) I think I would like to go for the reverse return method, Would the following (original post) with TRV's/Lockshields be a two-pipe system with reverse return or is it a one-pipe system as mentioned?
