Hi all, Renovating a 1780s cottage and want to make the timber look a bit smarter before we plaster and repaint. Current timber is a mix of black finishes and we're looking to apply a dark stain across everything to tie it all together a bit. What do I use? Should I just use a black ronseal...

    AutoScrew attachment for ERBAUER ERI6041PD

Thanks! I've bought a MAKITA 6843 :) Re the Erbauer, whilst it may be a "DIY tool", it defo packs a good punch and is more than capable of standing its ground with the "trade tool" ranges...! (y) (y) (and is a lot cheaper so can replace them with ease if the need ever arose! ;))

Panoroof skylights - are they any good??

Yes that's about it... I got our triple glazed unit (1m x 2m internal opening) for £685 delivered and didn't think the price was too bad given the other options we had. :)

Panoroof skylights - are they any good??

As requested some pics..! Not looking its best atm as we're tiling a wall quite close but so have left its protective film on and covered it with pallets/wood atm to protect it... so it's quite dirty! On the inside, the plasterboard will just get butted up against the underside of the glass to...

Hi did you ever go for the TLX Gold? We're planning on using it but had specified it alongside a 50mm air gap then 60mm woodfibre batt underneath. Roofer has suggested just the TLX would be enough... how did you get on?

He/She would review your application and advise if an appeal has any chance of success before proceeding down that route. Suggest you start your hunt for someone at https://www.rtpiconsultants.co.uk

    Smoke alarm/heat alarm

I agree..! Although you do need to keep on top of all the tradesmen! Whilst not wanting to hijack the thread my interest in the Fibaro is for an aesthetic and practical reason. We live in an old cottage (1670) and have a large inglenook and a log burner elsewhere. You can adjust the...

    A bookcase door...

Thanks for the link. Had a look but they all open by pushing the bookcase backwards... ours needs to opened out (towards us). I'm researching pivot hinges but the prices seem to be excessive when they can take over about 80kg

    A bookcase door...

from reading around if you get teh pivot hinge, and bookcase construction right there is no need for any other support, runners or wheels etc... It is sitting between two new dense concrete block walls on a newly laid slab so I'm confident it won't go anywhere if it's built properly. I have also...
