    Which pots are mine?

Would I need chimney balloons with c-caps? They don't look like they let a whole lot of air in.

    Which pots are mine?

Am selling up and moving to SW. England. Weather here is depressing. Fitted 4"(probably too much) vents to closed chimneys and trying to make chimney balloons for other 3.(any ideas). C-Caps on all 6.

    Which pots are mine?

Drilled 4" hole where I thought the 3 fireplaces should be. Got lucky and then used smoke pellets. Problem Solved. Strange the amount of rain we get all six chimneys were dry.

    Which pots are mine?

My side is the one without the 4" vent hole. You can't see from photo but it has a bulge in the middle so am taking it down about 10 rows to the 2nd, blue bricks, but only in the middle. Yes c-caps, and will vent when finished. Scaffolding alone costs £2250,-. Won't get it cheaper round here...

    Large chimney repair

I live in a terraced Town house with a shared brick chimney with 12 pots(6 each). My side is in a bad state of repair, neighbour's side a bit better and the council has condemned the whole chimney saying it must be rebuilt from the ridge up. Neighbour has refused to have anything to do with it...

    black mould on windows

You may be onto something. The extension is an awkward shape and no builders were interested(Celtic Tiger) so I had to get one man to build and labour alone in his weekends off. Naturally it took months to build and we had a very wet summer so this may be why the building is not completely dried...

    black mould on windows

It's a small hostel. This room has 4 beds not always occupied. The windows have trickle vents and the room is heated and well ventilated after use. It puzzles me that I have mould on the INSIDE of the glass. Thanks Sean.

I live on the west coast of Ireland, have just had a 30q. extension built. Black mould is starting to appear in corners and on the inside of the double glazed windows. How is this possible? The room is heated and vented regularly. Thanks Sean.

    panelling in bathroom

Just bought some Picton brand 7mm. t&g panelling for the bathroom. On the instructions it says use a vapour barrier. Should this be under the battens or over? Also it says leave a gap top and bottom so air can circulate. How is this achieved with skirting and a border? Picton don't seem to...
