In reply to Princeofdarkness, the supplier has supplied 100mm. bolts for fixing the sill so they would get no grip. As Iv'e said I made him redo the outside row so that I have a full block finish.
Just been told by another builder that the block insulation wii make the wall sweat. Also that the corner wall where the Threshold is not finished properly. Just don't know who to believe,
Builder built this Dwarf wall and as it was not the correct height he cut blocks about 2" thick and laid them on top. They were so uneven I made him take the outside row off and redo it as the conservatory sill will be sitting on this. He seems to think this finish is not a problem but I am...
Trouble is I can't tell the Builder his job. The laminate is 9mm with insulation on back suitable for heavy domestic but the insulation (Ecotherm" says 'do not stand on or support your weigh unless it is supported by a load bearing material" Is the laminate a load bearing material?
Had outside wall knocked and built a 1.2m. extension to bathroom. At the moment the floor in the new part is 3" below existing floor and builder wants to put 3" solid insulation in and leave it like that as I am putting laminate flooring over it. Is this correct?
Yes, they have been up a few years now but painted with Yacht varnish so holding up well except for 1 spot by the toilet. There are showers in the all bathrooms with Duma sheets on the walls> Great stuff wish I had done the whole bathroom with them. They are fire class 1 so I would still have...
Thanks, I think we will try one, they are not very expensive. With the Fire hinges, we can tighten it enough for the door to close when the window is open but not when it is closed, and it must close the door in all circumstances.
I can assure you Yes. When we opened 18years ago there was ordinary coal used here and the dirt would come through the windows so when you washed the tiles down the grout would be black. The Town went smokeless about 7 years ago but they also built a 4 lane highway outside our front door and...
The only reason I need fire doors on the bathrooms is because I used wood paneling on the bathroom walls & ceilings as they are warmer and easier to maintain then tiles. Not taking that lot out again for the sake of 3 doors.
Looked at the Perko but chippie says they would be too difficult to...
We were planning on using fire retardant paint but it's not worth the hassle so plan to instal 30min blanks but will still have the same problem accessing the hinges..
Have fitted fire hinges to these panel doors in an attempt to convert them to 30min. Fire doors. The spring on the hinges is tightened by an Allen key type lock on the top of the hinges. Because the door is not a normal 90deg. door it is very difficult to tighten the hinges. Any ideas on a tool...
