    Mixer tap repair grease

I repaired my kitchen mixer tap a few years ago, for some reason I’m now concerned that I added grease to the plastic bush above the ‘o’ ring on the spout If I added grease it would have been automotive/engineering grease! If I was would it cause a problem, as it would be above the sealing o...

    Plywood has gone furry, fibrous

I left some plywood outside and it's gone very fibrous on the surface, is this normal? The plywood is quite old as it was up my father's loft for years. (I think it was from originally some large packing containers) I’m not worried about the piece I’ve left outside, but I’ve made a few...

I found this in my privet hedge, it must have been dumped by the people who lived behind me! I’m pretty certain it’s old chipboard but could it be asbestos? It’s quite damp at the bottom and very crumbly like Weetabix!

Bosch Washer brush replacement tripping RCD?

I reckon it had just gone onto the rinse cycle as the conditioner was still in the tray, which I think starts with a short spin I have removed the new brushes and they are aftermarket replacements and to be honest seemed poor quality, one didn’t move to well on the spring when inserted So I’m...

Bosch Washer brush replacement tripping RCD?

I replaced the carbon brushes in my washer today, pretty straightforward and simple swap I tried the machine, and it was working fine (original problem fixed) but 1 hour into the first wash it tripped the RCD! First I suspected the spring clip holding the brush had come out and shorted, but...
