    Boiler Service

He pretty much said exactly what you have put above, but he did say the flue was rock solid but he had to mention as it was not to current standards I presume you mean white plastic outside? The flue is galvanised steel and there is very little showing

    Asbestos in breeze blocks?

I cut a slot in a breezeblock wall a few years ago but the breezeblocks looked dark blue/gray colour and I have been worried that this may have been asbestos? They were quite gritty and soft, I used an angle grinder so it made quite a lot of dust!

What happens to flux in cold water pipes does it just get washed away when the piping is used, and how long does it take to flush it out? Can’t imagine it would be healthy drinking water with flux?

    Grease for mixer tap

If I did use any grease it was probably carlube LM2 grease as that's the tube I have have! I've noticed Toolstation and Screwfix sell 57g of plumbers grease I presume that the grease shouldn't get past the seal and contaminate the water, as the tap would leak?

    Grease for mixer tap

Hi I’ve taken my mixer tap apart to repair a seal, what grease can I use. At the moment its full of a grey black grease I did fix it years ago but I not sure what grease I used (if any) but would this cause a problem (e.g Toxic) as I didn’t realise that you could get grease for taps!

    Isolation valves on heating system

That would explain it, the kitchen was not finished when the heating was installed by the previous owner. The kitchen had only been plastered just prior to my purchase I guessed they wouldn't work but they have not leaked in 15 years so is it best just to leave them alone? If they did start to...

I’ve just had the chimney stack removed from my property. The builder who did the work left one hell of a mess! He didn’t clean any mess up and there was a mountain of rubble behind the fire (higher that the fireplace!) And the house stinks of soot! I have also noticed that there is a draft...
