can I change the color of my wooden furniture?

I have a wooden desk which I love, but it is a different color of wood to my other furniture. Can I varnish it or paint it so it matches the rest of my furniture? Does this require a lot of skill. Basically, I am hoping to make it a darker color.

The radiator in my bathroom doesnt work

The radiator in my bathroom doesn't work. Can it be anything other than an air block? Is there such a thing as a 'dummy' radiator which is not meant to heat up but is necessary as part of the way the heating system is set up? Thanks in advance.

The pressure on my shower is awful. Pls help

I toyed with the idea of getting a pump installed near the hot water tank so that both the bathrooms benefit but I have now been told that if I do this, then the pump would kick into action when water is used anywhere in the house eg kitchen, washing machine, flushing toilet etc. and apparantly...

What is a condensing extractor fan? Engineer recommends use

So you can drill a hole from inside the house, and you wont have to get on a ladder for 3 stories to stick an airvent on? Also, is it a question of sticking an airvent on with sealant or do they have to be drilled into place? If it something that can be slapped on. that makes things a lot easier.

LOl... getting a ladder is not the problem. I am getting my roof gutter cleaned that day as well. But the bathroom is on the 3rd floor and no-one wants to drill a hole/ or install a vent cover while perched on a ladder at that height.

What is a condensing extractor fan? Engineer recommends use

Basically, I have condensation issues on the bathroom on the top floor. What type of extractor fan to install in bathroom

Forgive my stupidity, but just to confirm, a wall extractor fan would require a hole to be made in the wall, all the way to the exterior right? I guess the engineer would use something like a diamond cutter? Who is the best person for the job? a handyman? an electrician? I guessing not a plumber.

If tradesman fails to use scaffolding, is homeowner liable

The tradespeople looked young, but I made them show me their certification. I think they were trying to save me money, 'cos everyone else kept harping on about scaffolding. But, I can't justify spending an obscene amount just for scaffolding for getting a few leaves removed from the gutter...
