I have a wooden desk which I love, but it is a different color of wood to my other furniture. Can I varnish it or paint it so it matches the rest of my furniture? Does this require a lot of skill. Basically, I am hoping to make it a darker color.

You seem to know your stuff. Which do you think gives a better clean? Something hired from HSS or the Rug Doctor?

So you can drill a hole from inside the house, and you wont have to get on a ladder for 3 stories to stick an airvent on? Also, is it a question of sticking an airvent on with sealant or do they have to be drilled into place? If it something that can be slapped on. that makes things a lot easier.

Would a fan like this not require to a hole to be drilled then?

LOl... getting a ladder is not the problem. I am getting my roof gutter cleaned that day as well. But the bathroom is on the 3rd floor and no-one wants to drill a hole/ or install a vent cover while perched on a ladder at that height.

are there no round covers that you can slide on the pipe before you put it through the wall?

Forgive my stupidity, but just to confirm, a wall extractor fan would require a hole to be made in the wall, all the way to the exterior right? I guess the engineer would use something like a diamond cutter? Who is the best person for the job? a handyman? an electrician? I guessing not a plumber.
