What's your most used Chisel Size?

At the moment I have some cheap nasty Lidl chisels that are only good for battering something or opening paint cans, However I have realized I don't have a single chisel left with what I could do any actual task which requires a good chisel. So I wanted to buy some new, however I realize I don't...

    Approximate build cost

Some of you here have no sense of anything. Obviously you are not going to get everything from there, or buy a pack of screws that way or other small cheap things which are not worth to waste your time. You are going to hunt for the most expensive things there only... I will stick to what works...

Hunt ebay for leftovers from someone else's project, on other things where it doesn't makes sense- just contact few builder merchants with the quantities and make them bid over each other. There are some firms who delivers across country for no charge over certain amount and their prices are way...

Jokes on you, I have built 110m2 complete house for under 22k (material costs, without counting in how much my free time is worth...) What someone might charge for their work, and where they source their materials... that's a different story. I did tell those are the material costs, didn't I?

    Basic Loft Conversion

I carried mine out over 2months as a complete DIY project, I sourced the most expensive stuff off ebay ( that is the 1.6k worth of oak flooring I got for 100). Did the staircase myself, timber cost was around 200 for it , I'm fairly good at carpentry and got all the tools so I just make...

    Basic Loft Conversion

Yes... However be aware that Most of the money will go to making it all legal/ in paperworks and reinforcing the roof structure if it needs done.. the rest is easy and cheap, I did a 21sqm loft without bathroom + about 10sqm of in-built storage where ceiling height was below 1m few years ago...

Luxury vinyl flooring - what's so Luxury about it? :D

I always chuckle when someone just says that name, seriously what's so ''luxury'' about it? Vinyl flooring has been the cheapest junk you can get for god knows how long. Now someone makes it in smaller/easier to lay format and calls it "'luxury'' and everyone spends insane amounts of $ on it...

Sweating Toilet - has anyone insulated theirs?

I was aware of the problem with the old toilet that it would sweat a bit ( condensation) - it was dealt with by just wiping it up+ I thought It was leaking because of the amount of water everywhere , However now that I have re-done the whole bathroom ,including replacing some rotten floorboard...
