How to activate isolation on this smart meter.

Can someone advise how to set the internal contractor to open on this meter please. I’ve checked all the literature and it tells me that it can be done but not how to do it. It’s a tri state device seemingly (Open/primed/closed) Any help appreciated. Cheers Lee

    Hallway lights too bright

Might be a video in leading/trailing edge dimmers and their function with various brands of led lamps, I’d be interested in their behaviour with incandescent type bulbs as well…….. Found it……. Never mind P.S. I’ve not seen a scope like that since my days in training as a radar tech in the...

    Securing cable in void

Hi all. I’m about to move house. It’s woefully short on sockets with every accessory being a single, and only 2 singles per room. I’m going to be doubling up some of the singles and installing new doubles in the same final circuit. When running cables in the ceiling/floor void does the 18th...

    Door latch won’t spring back

I did a quick google search for mila spares/mila spring modules but didn't turn anything up. It might be worth taking the plate off to see if it's actually broken and do a search for door handle spring/cassette to see if you can find something that looks similar. Only sure way to sort it out is...

    Door latch won’t spring back

That sounds like the spring cassette has gone. Is this a pull up to lock, push down to open type affair? I've just replaced one on a pair of handles. Underneath that panel in the first picture I would expect you to find something that returns the handle to the horizontal position. It might be...

Help please...... French door joiny bit in the middle bastich won't come off

Thanks for all your suggestions guys. I got in touch with the manufacturer and it is indeed secured from the glass side...... I understand it's probably far more secure that way, but perhaps slightly over engineered. Cheers Lee

Help please...... French door joiny bit in the middle bastich won't come off

The more I look at it the more it appears you have to remove the glass to be able to get this off.

Help please...... French door joiny bit in the middle bastich won't come off

I just want to change the cylinder. I was going to take the drill through the PVC and expose the screw, that was right up to the point I hit metal. :)

Help please...... French door joiny bit in the middle bastich won't come off

Hi All, I've had an issue with a now ex tenant, and am trying to replace locks in some french doors, rear entry (ooer vicar). The door appears to be a eurocell eurologik affair..............that's what it says on the tin anyway. I've removed all the latch hardware and am just left with the...

    Utterly confused light wiring.

My landing has 2 lights fittings. And at the top of the stairs a double light switch, which would be really really simple were it not for the switch in the dining room which controls both lights regardless of state. The downstairs switch will make or break both lights regardless of the state...

Hot and Cold Feed washing machines (Where Have They Gone)!!!

It's an energy efficiency measure, by always using a cold feed manufacturers can accurately define the energy consumption of the machine. I think the hot water feed used to reduce cycle times but didn't actually much reduce energy consumption, and also limits your cold cycle ability. Sure...

Making good floor joists after chimney breast removal.

Story goes, when i bought this house the chimney breast had been removed up to the first floor, but under advice it has been removed up to loft level. Prior owners had ripped the floorboards up to rewire, and instead of replacing had just thrown some chipboard down on top, now i'm removin...
