My landing has 2 lights fittings. And at the top of the stairs a double light switch, which would be really really simple were it not for the switch in the dining room which controls both lights regardless of state.
The downstairs switch will make or break both lights regardless of the state of the upstairs switches. If both/one is on all off, if non on both on.
At the top of the stairs the two switches control the fittings independantly.
I know I have 5 wires at the top of the stairs 3 black and 2 red and i believe I have 2 going to the bottom switch.
What kind of switch do i need at the top of the stairs? And how do i wire it? And how do i find out how to wire it given there is no switch attached?
If someone could throw up a quick drawing or path to finding out how it should be connected would be most grateful.
Cheers
Lee
