Hi,

At the top of our stairs we have 2 light fittings on the landing ceiling, these are controlled by 2 light switches: one at the top of the stairs, one at the bottom. The 2 way switching turns both lights on or both lights off as you'd expect. No issues here.

I need to add a third light fitting that will switch on and off at the same time as the existing two light fittings. Is it as simple as wiring the new light fitting to the switched-live terminal, neutral and earth terminals on one of the existing light fittings?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

Does it matter which of the existing fittings the new fitting is connected to?

No ,but one will have less cables than the other ,and may be easier.

How many lighting circuits do you have, and what does the wiring at the switches look like?

You should be alert to the possibility of this problem https://www.diynot.com/wiki/Electrics:safety_information:sneutral when working on lighting circuits.
