Sikkens is a far better product than Sadolin thats for sure..

I would go for a shellac based sanding sealer first..then a couple of coats of oil based eggshell finish...eggshell IMO gives a nice polished/waxed effect and isnt too shiny

Its not the paint as such (albeit a bit of a rip off IMO) its the colour..some are pretty unstable.. Has it gone powdery/chalkie to the touch?...did you thin it out when you put it on?

Avoid the spray!.. To spray paint effectively youl need an airless and tey are NOT for the faint hearted beleive me..the over spray when spraying mist coat is like a fog! Even a roller can chuck a mist coat all about the place...theres nothing wrong with using a 5 inch wall brush instead...

Theres only one tried and tested method..a good brush, a steady hand..and a bit of practice.. Invest in a 3 inch Hamiltion or a purdy.. Always load the brush well but dont got straight at the line..work up towards it in shallow archs..use the side of the brush not the corners, they dont...
