2 different boilers on CH system replacement quotes

A lot will depend on your incoming water main, if you have good flow and pressure the 42CDi will give you great hot water and a very good shower too ive fitted lots of them and personally think they're fantastic boilers.

worcester bosch highflow 400 rsf stopped working

you might need to top up the pressure in the system, what does the pressure gauge say on the front of the boiler? is it down in the red? if so, you'll need to top it up. you may have a standard filling loop, or an internal one.

When hot water gets to set temp what should happen?

your megaflow will have a hot water thermostat fitted as part of the unit, once it's satisfied it should shut the hot water 2 port valve, assuming nothing else is calling for heat, then the boiler will shut down too. if you have no room stat and you have your heating on then the heating valve...

    Feel for this guy.

most plumbers have been in a similar situation, i know i have! first thing he needed to do was to open all the other taps and take the pressure off. if he couldn't get a fitting on set about flattening the pipe. although that's easy for me to say in front of my pc at home!

it could be quite possible that your main stop cock was only opened half way to start with, the bathroom fitters have come in, turned off the water then turned it back on fully.

Help with choice of bath taps.

if you have 2 different pressures going they won't mix very well. your cold main pressure will 'push' the weaker hot out the way and not mix unless you cut the cold down. it'll be like cracking a safe, you'll be turning down the cold a tiny bit at a time to get the right mix. seperate taps, or...
