Nice boiler its made by gerkros You need to pressure the vessel when COLD to 1 bar and then bleed the rads(you must have bleed point so look a little closer) then re fire boiler the steam is because your heating the boiler with no water in it,bit like boiling the kettle with no water not...

the tank being below the burner is not the problem as he has a tiger loop as oilman said this can be a number of things when was it last serviced and have you checked oil filter as you may have fuel starvation or as said above flame sensor(photo cell) New nozzle required? dirty blast tube...

You should as said change the prv but you should wonder WHY it operated and why it was over heating After fitting the prv keep a close eye on the pressure as you may have a faulty expansion vessel :wink:

you can still buy them as with gas boilers there are some very few times you can go non condensing but you need to get it agreed with building control :roll:

have you tryed turning all the working rads off and see what happens it could be air in return pipework not the rads ?

If you are oftec reg which i doubt what do you have and whats your number?
