Firebird with Ecoflam going to overheat about twice a week.

Called round to this one this evening on my way home.

Basically it goes to over heat every 3 or 4 days (random) and she has to hit the reset button to get it going again.

Pump is set at 3 and spinning away merrily. Stuck a screwdriver on it and to my ear and it sound smooth.

Thermostat (grey box one) is set to 75. Screwed off the cover to check for loose wires. Fine. Overheat temp set to 110.

There are no room stats or MVs. Gravity fed system.

All rads are bled and getting hot when heat comes on. All on TRVs. Thinking back now i didnt check if they were all fully open.

By the way she got her oil line changed last year and the guy has put on a red rubber affair. Dont do much oil but thought these had to be the braided hose type?

Any thoughts greatfully received!!!

No they don't have to be braided type
He as fitted a long life oil hose and this would not make a difference to boiler overheating

Change the boiler/overheat stat if the circulation is ok

Has the boiler been serviced baffles checked flue checked e.c.t.

Nothing wron with the red hose, except they smell. Blue ones are better.

Assuming no air in boiler, have you measured what the control stat switches off at? Just because it says 75. If it's not the control stat, it's probably a faulty high limit stat.

Didnt have time to check that as the snow was starting to build up on my back!!!!

I suspected the high limit stat but i thought they were pretty much bullet proof.

Anyway i have a spare so ill stick taht on and see if it solves it.
