    Your boiler is only 7 years old(not old for a oil fired boiler.. It shouldnt soot up after a while so i would address this first. Have you had it serviced if not please do so,if you have call another engineer :wink: You can get an oftec engineer in your area by checking their web site :lol...

    Try above Then check reverse flow :wink: Put heating on and check what pipe to rad gets hot first(flow) Then when cold try hot water only and see if same pipe is hot first if not then you have reverse flow :twisted: I only sugest this as it has always happened since you moved in :lol:

    are you sure it needs balancing ? Have you kept the boiler in the same position as before? has your problem just started since new boiler removal of reds e.c.t.? You may have an air lock in the pipe work not the top of rad where you bleed it.. Whats the symtoms you have if some rads...

    I would advise a service as its new(in your house) it may need setting up(commission). what flue are you using is it the same The baffles flue and burner need checking look on the OFTEC web site and they will tell you who's nearest engineer :wink:

    New oil boiler - inside or out, sealed or vented

    4 bed bungalow? Think your installer is right to recomend sealed system as you dont have a lot of head hight but you need to push the heating water some distance and you should use a 15/60 pump :wink: Inside or out? i hate getting wet servicing or repairing so for me(engineer) inside...

    pics ok and pipe work not to bad i would not have a 3port valve with a gate valve(red stop cock) to slow or stop heating upstairs i would have an s plan +(3 div valves) just better control of zones.. The bit we need to see was the return pipe meeting the return heating.. think this will be...

    not suprised about oil pump very common im afraid with the riello pump so not installers fault and grant will replace free (if boiler installed correct with filter). Is your installer oftec registered and notified work to building control if so you will have been sent a cert to let you know...
