Solid Wood Flooring & Appropriate Underlay

Like flooringman said: a floor like this should not be installed using the floating method, but fully bonded to the underfloor or secretly nailed. In both cases an underlayment would be useless

    ply over parquet floor

It can only lead to problems if after you installed the plywood you use a carpet underlayment that contains a DPM. You can glue down the plywood with flexible adhesive if you cut the plywood sheets smaller (so not installing a 8' x 4' in one sheet)

Wooden flooring - to nail or float?

I would always opt for a true expansion gap around the hearth, but that's me talking as a professional. Your rebated frame could work, as long as the "lip" is thin enough and there are no disasters in regards of excessive moist or humidity

Wooden flooring - to nail or float?

What I meant was, the side of the frame that buts against your fire place should be rebated underneath, so in the event the floor expands it breaks off without damaging your floor

Wooden flooring - to nail or float?

As long as this frame is rebated underneath, so it can "snap off" if and when needed I don't think there is a problem

for around your fireplace, see this article with examples As for underlayment when secret nailing, waste of money and materials - the underlayment will impress with the nail, redering it useless

Is there UV oil to protect hardwood floor?

Nope, not really. Your wood is maturing (i.e. not damaging) - a bit slower underneath the carpets - and that gives a darker natural colouring to your floor.

Glueing engineered oak floor on wood floor.

It properly depends on the direction of the new boards: if in the same direction as the original ones, plying over the existing floor is very common - and so is fully bonding the new floor to plywood

Joomla what does using it mean?

Why not try it for free for 30 days on CloudAccess hosting? That's how I started with Joomla - having worked with Dreamweaver before. There are a loads of "apps/extensions" also available you can upload/insert into a Joomla site, such as "field" that changes the pictures at random etc...

    1st Time Laying Solid Wood

Don't use the Excel, get the Duratex instead - also by Timbermate. On chipboard and other "wooden" underfloors you should not use an underlayment that contains a DPM - Excel does contain a DPM, Duratex doesn't.
