How much mark up on parts prices is acceptable?

Absolutely agree Richard as for a £50 fan - not a OEM unit for sure a micron fan is £120 to us so after our **% mark up is near to £200! oh and plu Vat of course - some Punters have no understanding of the costs (some hidden) involved in running a business as I said earlier in this post it is...

Drive coupling for a Danfoss BFP 11 R3 oil pump

    Need to re-pressurise a Thermecon 40/60 boiler-help please!

You need to set the pressure to 1.00bar (I don't know where you have got 2.75 from it is far too high!) If you lift off the top casing panel, you should see the pressure gauge, it is on the left hand side, on the copper pipe to the left of the pump, the filling loop may be fitted inside the...

Heating Won't Come On as per Programmer

Without attending site and carrying out electrical checks to see where the fault actually lays, it is only possible to guess- which could end up costing you more in the long run, I have known the Potterton Electronic Rooms stat to suffer from a sticking relay - of course that is only a...

    HRM Wallstar won't ignite

Do NOT fit a Riello to your boiler, the Riello oil pump WILL BE UNABLE to lift the oil using your single pipe fuel supply, if you want a new burner I would take advice from the manufacturer HRM regarding blast tube length etc, they may be able to supply an appropriate burner

    HRM Wallstar won't ignite

I agree with above comments ref Oil Pressure I was looking at an intermittant Lockout on a burner only a few weeks ago - boiler "sounded" fine but when a pressure gauge was put onto the pump it was found to be only 50psi!! (oil will not atomise properly at such low pressures) this was raised to...

    HRM Wallstar won't ignite

Attempting to fire the burner in the open is NOT something that I would recommend anyone to do - the ignition components operated at around 8Kv, and if the burner did decide to fire you might find yourself in A&E! also if the Photocell can see daylight, the test would be invalid as the cell...

Advise about Old Potterton Central Heating Pump Removal!

That SMC Pump has actually replaced a much older pump made by Sundstrand, those two bolt flanges are going to be a pain you may find that a CP Pumps Universal head will fit, whether or not you can get the pump isolation valves to operate to isolate the water to the pump is another story...

Baxi Bermuda backboiler - central heating iffy after water

Errr that is not a 3 port valve, it is a pair of 2 ports, I suspect the actuator or valve is seized on the Heating valve
