20mm T&G pine board on battens!

If you plan to secret nail your floor on the battens, the latter should be no more than 40cm apart, not the 60cm you're planning.

    Canadian maple floorboards.

Depends really on the floor sander you're about to hire. How heavy is it, does it have a continues belt or sanding sheets (most hire centres have the latter, which I would stay away from). Maple is a tough wood species, so it will take a heavy belt sander to get any decent result. Those...

You're not missing anything, Treatex appears to have a rather high VOC content, products we use, such as Saicos HWO don't.

Engineered wooden flooring over underfloor heating.

Those with a too thin a top layer (say veneer with only 0.6mm top layer) and those with MDF of HDF backing. Further more it is down to quality and grades. Don't get a too rustic grade with open large knots

Engineered wooden flooring over underfloor heating.

The cork is used as extra sound reducing underlayment. Every country has its own "rules and regulations" on this. If this is the case, installing the floor floating would be possible IF you are sure the underlayment you'll be using has the same sound reducing effect as the cork would do.

Warped engineered oak flooring boards delivered.

The matter here: natural product with reactions to changes the house climate. The crossed backing of engineered boards (backing made of wood) will still react to this natural effect, therefore the statement is correct: wood-engineered reacts (less) to this natural effect too.

Eh, "engineered" from natural products = definitely a natural product, but more stable than a solid floorboards.

To Lay Oak flooring on existing floorboards or not??

What I meant was, if you remove the existing floorboards and replace them with either new floorboards or sheet materials, these have to be at least 18mm thick to be load-bearing. Chipboard is rubbish, no matter what thickness

To Lay Oak flooring on existing floorboards or not??

If it goes straight over the joist, the OP needs at least 18mm. Best also to stay away from chipboard, rubbish product which reduces your options in top floors.

What oil to make oak flooring look glossy and shiny?

Gloss is shiny on its own, satin mat is what most people select (and has the benefit of buffing to a higher shine if it is too mat for your liking)
