Great thanks for the reply, but... where do you short the live and neutral too. Sounds silly but im on a mental block this week :? Ive always done it the long way around which in fairness might be the best way!

Hi, Ive heard you can do a insulation resistance test by short the live and neutral together at the board, then tests to earth can be written as limited. Sound right to you.? also how would you go about this? EDIT Any views would be welcome

i was going to say the lead pipe in there now is around 25mm. so was going to toolstation some new stuff. And whilst im on this side of the forum, will the water company take away the old lead pipe or can i keep it to sell for beer money? :lol:

Hi, Im replaceing the lead pipe at father-in-laws house. Am i right in saying its 25mm MDPE pipe thats needed? Ive seen 20mm and 35mm aswell but i thought 25mm was the norm??? Thanks :)

I went to see a job today .The installation was what i thought to be TT however the 100ma and 30ma was nowhere to be seen. I guess it was wired early to mid 80s. The TT electrode termination was a bit loose. What confused me a bit was where the cutout was (bearing in mind it wasnt your normal...
