    If your meter has 4mm sockets then there is an adapter on ebay for using a mains extension lead as a wander lead. There is also a 50M wander lead for sale but it costs 75quid :shock: I think you need to search for 'wander lead' as well as 'wandering lead' regards

    Why put a socket in the loft? Just cut the plug off the booster and wire it into a junction box on the light circuit. No need for additional fuse protection as it is on a 5A circuit anyway
